Noel in Paris  パリのクリスマス　Dec 2014　Vol.3

I didn't have much time in this trip, so I hand-picked the shops and areas I really wanted to go.
One of the area I wanted to go was Pigalle.
It's near Montmartre.  When I came to Paris, I always come to the area.
After I went to my favourite antique shop, I went to the south of Pigalle station, which I had never been.


今回のパリ旅行、時間がなかったので、行きたいお店、エリアを厳選しました。
その一つがピガール。坂道にいろいろお店があるモンマルトルエリア、昔も必ず来ていました。
いきつけのアンティークショップをのぞいたら、たぶん私にとっては初めてのエリア、ピガール駅の南へ。

It was a flower shop, but I think they were selling those vintage baubles as well..
It looked quite nice with all different and colourful baubles.
It was a good inspiration for next Christmas decoration.


ここ、お花屋さんだったんだけれど、このクリスマスツリーにかかっているヴィンテージのボーブルも売ってたみたい。
こんなカラフルで、全部ばらばらっていうのもいいな～。
来年へのインスピレーション。

This bakery was seriously yummy and looked very popular.
I want this kind of bakery near my flat!


このパン屋さん、めちゃくちゃおいしそう＆人がいっぱいで人気そうだった。
こういうパン屋さんがいたるところにあるフランス、やっぱりいいなあ～。

I hadn't been in Paris for 5 years, but I love Paris and had collected lots of information of shops and cafes in Paris.
I was imagining that I go to this shop and that cafe when I go to paris next time.....
Unfortunately, half of the shops I chose were closed down.....
I should have got updated info or at least I should have checked the websites of those shops....
Well, I love to see the town of Paris and would like to walk around and find my favourites by myself when I have time.


５年間来る機会がなかったけれど、大好きなパリの情報だけはためていて、
今度いったらこの見せに以降、あのカフェに行ってみたい、とかいろいろ考えていたんだけれど、
残念ながら今回チョイスしたお店の半分は閉店していたという…。
やっぱり、情報は最近のもの、もしくは最低でもサイトをチェックするべきだったなあ。
でも、パリはやっぱり美しいし、時間があるときにゆっくり歩いて自分のお気に入りを見つけたいな。

Noel in Paris  パリのクリスマス　Dec 2014　Vol.3

I didn't have much time in this trip, so I hand-picked the shops and areas I really wanted to go.
One of the area I wanted to go was Pigalle.
It's near Montmartre.  When I came to Paris, I always come to the area.

今回のパリ旅行、時間がなかったので、行きたいお店、エリアを厳選しました。

いきつけのアンティークショップをのぞいたら、たぶん私にとっては初めてのエリア、ピガール駅の南へ。

Mad's Paris Sketch ~ Paris à Noël

Noel in Paris  パリのクリスマス　Dec 2014　Vol.2

There was a column series in my favourite magazine.
It was about Paris in a daily life, a life of Parisienne, ordinary scenery.... 
It was normal life for people in Paris, but for Japanese girls, it was very dreamy.  I used to scrapbook.
And it might be the base of this blog.
So now, I show my scrapbook of this Paris trip.


昔大好きだった雑誌、オリーブで、毎回楽しみにしていたコラムが、吉場幸江さんの「Paris Sketch」。
確かスクラップもしていたほどお気に入りで、パリジェンヌの生活やステキな風景にあこがれていました。
The Mad Journalの原型といってもいいほど。
というわけで、このパリの旅は私なりにスケッチ(スナップ）したパリの風景を。

I didn't have much time in this trip, but couldn't ignore La Seine.
I think that La Seine is the most "Paris" scenery for me, not the Eiffel tower, Champs-Elysees Avenue or L'arc de Triomphe.
I love the scenery with water, so love the canal in Amsterdam too, also this La Seine in Paris.


今回はあんまり時間がなかったけれど、やっぱりセーヌ川沿いのお散歩は欠かせない。
私にとってもっともパリっぽい景色はエッフェル塔でもシャンゼリゼや凱旋門でもなく、セーヌ川。
水の流れる景色が好きなので、アムステルダムの運河も好きだけれど、パリのセーヌ川も大好き。

I love the scene with Bouquinistes (used/vintage book shop).
I remember the column about Bouquinistes and I really loved the photos.
I don't really buy books there, but I always go and take photos just like the photos I saw in the column.


吉場さんのParis Sketchで、印象に残ってる回の一つがブキニストの回。
確か、木々には緑がいっぱいで、 その緑とおそろいの箱が並んで、その奥のセーヌ川がきらきら反射していて、
パリジャンやパリジェンヌたちがお気に入りを選んでいる光景がすごくステキだった。
(今や自分の美化も入ってるかもしれないが。(笑）
自分では古本や紙ものは買わないんだけれど、そんな風景を求めて毎回来てしまう。

Paris in spring or summer is beautiful and I like it, but also love in winter.
Especially if you go to La Seine, and it is cloudy, it would be great in the monochrome photos with black winter trees and white buildings.


そんな緑のまぶしい頃のパリも好きだけれど冬のパリもそれはそれで好き。
特にセーヌ川と曇り空なら、枯れ木と白い建物のコントラストでモノクロ写真がとっても絵になる。

 I like Saint Louis island.
There is no special things, but I like the atmosphere...

セーヌ川のお散歩でついつい行ってしまうのがサン・ルイ島。
特に好きなお店があるというわけではないのだけど(前回はあったが今回は消えていた…。）
雰囲気が好きで行ってしまう。

One of my favourite things in Paris is this big door to patio.
I wonder what is in there.... :)


パリで好きなものの一つが、このパティオに続く大きなドア。
パティオが好きだというのもあるけど、デコラティブな扉の奥に何があるんだろうとどきどきさせる。

The whole town of Paris was in Christmas mood, I saw Christmas trees everywhere in the town.
The windows of antique shops were also full of Christmas items....


町はクリスマスの雰囲気に包まれて、いたるところにクリスマスツリーがあるのもステキだった。
アンティークショップに飾られたクリスマスアイテムもやっぱりステキ。

We went to Galerie Lafayette.
My firend told me about a fabulous chocolate shop called Sadaharu Aoki.
It is actually Japanese chef's shop but I only heard about his name.
I tried a piece of green tea chocolate and it was soooooooooooooo good.
(Actually, while we were trying a tiny piece of chocolate, the chocolates in the small basket were all gone.....)
I had to buy one for my partner who really loves green tea sweets.
Got a great Christmas gift and saw the lovely decoration, I was in the Christmas mood. :)


友人が教えてくれた、ギャラリーラファイエットにあるステキなチョコレートショップサダハル・アオキ。
東京にはあるんでしょうね～、関西在住の私は知らなくて。
ものすご～くものすご～くおいしくて感動。
(日本人のお姉さんに試食できますか、と尋ねたら、気前よく抹茶チョコを出してくれた!
私たちがひとかけら食べているうちに小さいカゴにいっぱいだったチョコレートが一瞬で消えた…！）
相方さんも満足のお土産を買って、ギャラリーラファイエットのきらきらの天井を見て、クリスマス気分に浸りました。

There was a column series in my favourite magazine.

Galette des Rois 2015

Here comes Epiphanie!  The time for the delicious marzipan pie :)

本音はパティスリー・デ・レーヴのものを試したかったんだけれど、ちょっとお高かったので、却下…。
今年、お仕事がうまくいけば是非、来年こそ!
で、結局…

The galette of this year is from a French cafe called Madeleine in Clapham Common.
I had already wrote about the cafe which used to be named Cafe Macaron.  Apparently they have changed the name.
 We went for lunch there last Saturday, and we just decided to buy one there.


今年のガレット・デ・ロワは、クラップハムコモンにあるフレンチ・カフェ、「マドレーヌ」のもの。
当ブログでは「カフェ・マカロン」としてすでに紹介しましたが、昨年名前が変わったみたい。
土曜日にクラップハムにランチしに行ったので、だったらもうあそこで買っちゃおうよ!　ってことになったのでした。
このガレット、かなり巨大でなんと８人分。ほんとは1サイズ小さい６人分がよかったんだけれど、この日はこれが最後の一つ。
それでもこれで２１ポンド!　とってもリーズナブル!　

It's huge, and we have already started eating it since Sunday :D
It's the third time today!!


というわけで、実はもう日曜日から食べ始めている私たち。(笑）
この日はもう３度目の挑戦!

And I got a feve on this Epiphanie day!!
It's not cute cute, but I prefer this to the last year one... It looks like a traditional feve.
It's a very good start of the year!!


で、エピファニーのこの日にフェーヴゲットしました～!
ラデュレよりはかわいさにかけるけど、去年のフェーヴよりはなんだかフレンチの伝統フェーヴって感じでいい!
というわけで、今年も幸先のよいスタート、来年こそはパティスリー・レーヴを目標に、お仕事がんばります!
PS、それにしても、まだたくさんガレット余ってるので、お友達の方、お茶しに来てください。

Here comes Epiphanie!  The time for the delicious marzipan pie :)
I had been thinking where I should get a galette....
I had some options and in the end....


今年もやってまいりました、公現節、別名ガレット・デ・ロワの日!
今年もどこのガレットにしようか、と年末辺りからいろいろ考えてました。
でも、実はそんなに選択肢がなくて、(フランスと比べりゃあね…。）

New Year Resolutions 2015

Here are my new year resolutions!!
2015 is the 10th anniversary of my life in UK!! (Scary!)
I was not satisfied with my 2014, so that I will make 2015 more fulfilling year!!


毎年恒例のニューイヤーレゾリューション。(今年の目標。）
今年は、なんと在英10年目の私にとって記念すべき年!  (ちょっと恐ろしい!）
昨年は自分でもなんだかなあ、と思う年だったので、今年こそはもっと充実した年にしたいな。



１、Be creative.  日常をクリエイティブに過ごす。

といってもそんなにクリエイター気質でもないので、とにかく日々工夫してすごすということで。


２、Take good pictures.  いい写真を撮る。

10年目のマンネリなのか、最近の写真は、昔の一番普通のコンパクトカメラで撮ったものよりもインパクトがない。
カメラだけは格段にグレードアップしてるんだけど…。
私が心がけているのは、写真通の人が唸るようなアーティな写真ではなくて、
普通に旅行雑誌とかに載っているようなベーシックな教科書にでてくるような撮り方の写真。
素直にみんなが「うわー、きれい」と思ってもらえるような、そんな写真を撮りたいです。



３、Improve my dance.  ダンスをがんばる。

年齢的にもちゃんと踊れる限界が近づいている。
踊れるうちにもっと真剣に取り組みたい。
ポワントもまたはじめよ。
先日久々にジャズのクラスを受けたら、同じクラスを受けていたおばさんに、「あなたのダンス、とってもいいわよ!」とほめてもらえてうれしかった。:)
だけど久々でそのあと腹筋の筋肉痛がハンパなかったので、(ジャズクラスはウォーミングアップに筋トレするんです。）
今年は最低でも月1，2は通おう…。
オープンオーディションにも行っちゃおうかな!?


４、Study French.  フランス語を勉強する。

やっぱやらなきゃいかんでしょ…。
せめて今年は簡単な会話だけでも相方の家族とできるようになりたい。



５、Value every day.　一日一日を大切に過ごす。

昨年はシフトの関係で、仕事から帰ってきたらついついだらだら→自己嫌悪→でもまた繰り返す。→さらに自己嫌悪。
の、繰り返しだったので、今年はそれをやめて、後悔のない日々を過ごしたい。
もちろん、だらだらする時間もたま～に取りつつ。:)

 
６、Have confidence for myself.　　自分に自信を持つ。

永遠のテーマ。


It's just these 6, but I must tick all of them by the end of this year!

でもこれらを全部ティックできるようにしたい!

New Year Resolutions 2015

Here are my new year resolutions!!
2015 is the 10th anniversary of my life in UK!! (Scary!)
I was not satisfied with my 2014, so that I will make 2015 more fulfilling year!!


毎年恒例のニューイヤーレゾリューション。(今年の目標。）
今年は、なんと在英10年目の私にとって記念すべき年!  (ちょっと恐ろしい!）
昨年は自分でもなんだかなあ、と思う年だったので、今年こそはもっと充実した年にしたいな。



１、Be creative.  日常をクリエイティブに過ごす。

といってもそんなにクリエイター気質でもないので、とにかく日々工夫してすごすということで。


２、Take good pictures.  いい写真を撮る。

10年目のマンネリなのか、最近の写真は、昔の一番普通のコンパクトカメラで撮ったものよりもインパクトがない。
カメラだけは格段にグレードアップしてるんだけど…。
私が心がけているのは、写真通の人が唸るようなアーティな写真ではなくて、
普通に旅行雑誌とかに載っているようなベーシックな教科書にでてくるような撮り方の写真。
素直にみんなが「うわー、きれい」と思ってもらえるような、そんな写真を撮りたいです。
