最近、コーヒー飲めないくせに、コーヒーショップが気になる私。

家からリバプールストリートの駅に行く途中、
とっても小さなコーヒースタンドなのに、 いつも行列があるお店があります。

それがTaylor st Baristas.

小さなカウンターがあるだけのこのお店なので、いつも満員、
もしくは、テイクアウェイで朝やランチブレイクのコーヒーを買うお客さんであふれています。

なので、絶対ここのコーヒーはおいしいに違いないのだわ!!

これは一度試してみたい…でもお店はまったくくつろげない雰囲気…。

そんなときに見つけたのが、メイフェアのブランチ。


I don't drink coffee.  But I'm interested in coffee shops these days....
There is a very popular shop near Liverpool street station and my flat.
It's a small coffee stand but there's always a long queue!
That's Taylor st Baristas.
There's only a counter, but always it's always full,
and people are queueing for coffee in the morning and lunch break.
So I thought their coffee must be great!!
I want to try......  But the cafe inside looked so small and uncomfortable....
But I found their another branch in Mayfair.

メイフェアの雰囲気に合った、シックでトラディショナルな外観。

クリスマスのディスプレイでウィンドウが曇っているのもいい感じです。

The outside looks very chic and traditional.  It matches Mayfair.

I like the snowy window display too.

中も予想通りとってもシック。

ヴィンテージの家具がとっても合っています。

シックなのに、アットホームな感じがするのは、

クリスマスの飾り付けや、気さくな店員さんのせいでしょうか。

決して店内は広いわけではありませんが、落ち着ける雰囲気。

テーブル席があるのはやっぱりうれしい。

The inside is also chic as I thought.

The vintage furniture suit here too.

It's chic but homey maybe because their Christmas display and friendly staff.....

The cafe is not so big but I felt comfortable.

I like a cafe with table and chairs not only a counter....

コーヒーの専門店だと思ってたので、カウンターにあるたくさんのケーキを見た瞬間思わずにやり。

このほかキッシュやサンドイッチ、スープなど、基本的にカフェにあるものは一通りあります。


I thought they only sell beverage, but I was pleased when I saw various cakes on the counter.....
They have quiche, sandwiches, soup as well.

やっぱりコーヒーをオーダーしてみなくっちゃね!

でもブラックはだめなので、カフェラテをオーダー。

濃いところでは砂糖をたくさん入れてもまだ苦味があるんですが、

ここのは砂糖を一杯弱でもトーーーーってもおいしかった!!!

ここのを飲んでしまうとスタバにいけないわ…!!

寒くても店の外まで並んじゃうあの行列に納得!!

ミルクに描かれたリーフの絵もかわいい!


Of course I ordered coffee......  But with milk.  I ordered latte..
Some cafes have a really bitter taste coffee (of course with milk)
and it would be still bitter even if I put lots of sugar.
But their latte has a  really good taste and I just put a half spoon of sugar!
I can't go to Star****s any more.....
Now I understand why people are queueing there....
The leaf drawing on milk is cute too!

 この日はランチがまだだったので、キッシュを注文。

野菜がゴロゴロで、味もとってもおいしかった!

コーヒーだけでなく、このキッシュ目当てでもいいかも!

おなかがすいてたのでケーキも注文しちゃったけど、食べきれず、お持ち帰り。

このバナナケーキもしっとりでとってもおいしかった…!

これはほかのケーキも試してみなくっちゃ!


I didn't have lunch that day so I ordered a quiche.
There were lots of chunky vegetables and tasted good too!
The cafe is good not only for coffee but also food!
I was hungry so I ordered a cake too but I couldn't finish it, did take it away.
This banana cake was moist and very yummy....!
I have to try other cakes too!

最近、コーヒー飲めないくせに、コーヒーショップが気になる私。

家からリバプールストリートの駅に行く途中、
とっても小さなコーヒースタンドなのに、 いつも行列があるお店があります。

それがTaylor st Baristas.

小さなカウンターがあるだけのこのお店なので、いつも満員、
もしくは、テイクアウェイで朝やランチブレイクのコーヒーを買うお客さんであふれています。

なので、絶対ここのコーヒーはおいしいに違いないのだわ!!

これは一度試してみたい…でもお店はまったくくつろげない雰囲気…。

そんなときに見つけたのが、メイフェアのブランチ。

Sloping paths in Kiyomizu~清水の坂道たち

Around Kiyomizu-dera is one of the most traditional area in Kyoto.

I think it is the best part of Kyoto.

This area is protected as Groups of Traditional Buildings.

清水を出たら、いよいよ京都の伝統的な町並みを見せるために町へ。

私が、一番京都らしいと思うお気に入りの場所。

清水寺の周辺は、古い町並みが残る歴史的な地域で、保護されて大切にされています。

 The sloping path leading straight to Kiyomizu-dera is called Kiyomizu-zaka (Matsubara Street).

There is a lot of souvenir shops on this street.

You can get any souvenirs of Kyoto.

清水寺へとまっすぐ続くこの清水坂（松原通）には、たくさんのおみやげ物屋がずらり。

ここでは京都らしいお土産が何でも手に入ります。

Don't go down this street to the end, turn right in the middle.

There is a stairs leads to a beautiful town.

清水坂をおりきらずに、中腹で右に折れてください。
ここからまたステキな坂道が続きます。

Sannen-zaka is a path (stairs) leading to Yasaka-jinja, Maruyama park and other famous temples.

Also there are lots of traditional buildings.

So many tourists visit to see this beautiful town and go through to temples.

You can see the most traditional scenery in Kyoto here.

I understand why people want to walk around here with Kimono.

This Sannen-zaka (San - three, Nen - years, Zaka(saka) - sloping path) has a superstition,
"You will die in three years if you fall down in this stairs."
But don't worry in case you fall down...........


三年坂と呼ばれるこの坂は、八坂神社や円山公園へ続く道となっており、
また伝統的建造物がたくさん並ぶことから観光客が絶えない名スポットです。
ここを歩くと京都っていう感じ。
着物で歩きたくなるのもわかります。

が、この三年坂には言い伝えがあって、
「この坂で転んだ人は三年以内に死ぬ」といわれています。
でも万が一転んじゃっても大丈夫。

There is a calabash shop in the foot of the stairs.
Their calabash would get rid of your misfortune.


坂のふもとにあるこのひょうたん屋さんのひょうたんが厄を落としてくれるそうです。

The calabash shop or...............cat shop?

ひょうたんというか…猫屋さん?

 Why on earth there are lots of chopstick rests ...?

 なぜか並べられている箸置きたち…。

There is a lot of interesting things in this area.......


そしてなぜかベルマークの箱が!!

偶然にもMIMIKOさんのブログでベルマークのことが触れられていたからうれしかったり。
いまだに使用用途がわからない、なぞのベルマーク。
まだあったのですね。

面白い光景だけれど、なんだかこれも絵になってしまう、そんな町。

 I saw many people wearing kimono.  I guess that wearing kimono is getting really popular now.

I wanted to buy one too!  I couldn't..... shame.

Next time I go back to Japan, I'd love to wear kimono and walk around this area.


着物を着た人をほんとにたくさん見かけたので、着物人気のすごさを見ました。
私も買って帰りたかったんだけどなー、残念。
私も次のお花見帰国の際には、着物をレンタルでもしてきて、京都の町を散策してみたいもんです。

It's good to go there in the daytime as you see the town well,

but the night time is also beautiful with lights in the town.

I feel like I'm in the foreign country.......


昼間も建物の様子がよく見えてもちろんいいのですが、
よるも町の明かりが幻想的でとってもステキ。
なんだか異国にいるみたい。

 There is another sloping path (stairs), called Ninen-zaka (Ni - two, Nen - years, )

坂はまだまだ続く。今度は二年坂です。

 It was good to show this area to my hubby but I totally forgot about the time.

I should have taken him here when the shops are opened.

(It was almost 7pm. There are still some shops were opened, which is good.)

Of course the town in evening is beautiful though.


ここまでたどり着いたのはよかったけれど、時間のことをまったく忘れていて、
お店が開いてるときにつれてきてあげればよかったなあ。
（７時ぐらいで、まだ開いてる店がけっこうあったのはよかったけれど）
夜の京の町ももちろん乙ですがね。

I wanted to take him to a retro cafe such like this.

Or typical souvenir shops......  You wouldn't get bored here all day.

I will take him here in the daytime next time.


こんなレトロカフェとか。
京都ならではのおみやげ物屋とか…ここなら一日いてもあきませんよね。
今度は昼間にゆっくりできるようにつれてきてあげよう。


After you go down Ninen-zaka and Ichinen-zaka which is after Ninen-zaka to the end,
there is my favorite souvenir shop.


この二年坂を下りきり、一念坂をまたさらに下ると…
お勧めのお土産屋があります。

Kohaku Kairashi。

This is a souvenir shop from "Atelier Kaoru" which is an accessory brand from Kyoto.

There are lots of cute items girls definitely will love,
like pouches and coin purses of cute design which is very popular in Kyoto nowadays.

The shop has a great sense and different from typical souvenir shops,
but it's still very Kyoto.

Girls, just visit here if you are not sure what to buy for souvenirs.


京都出身のアクセサリーデザイナーさんがやっている、「アトリエ・カオル」さんの京都土産のお店です。
最近よく見かけるかわいいデザインのがま口をはじめ、
女子がキャーキャー言いそうなかわいいアイテムたくさん!
その辺のおみやげ物屋とは一味違うセンスでスペシャル感が味わえるのに、
京都らしさは失われていない…
女子の皆さん、おみやげ物に迷ったら、ぜひここを訪れてみてください。

My recommendation is Kyoto candy.　(candy specially from Kyoto. Normally it's very colourful.)

It's reasonable price, beautiful, and it's food, no one will throw away!

Perfect gift. (unless for a person doesn't like sweets.)

お手ごろ価格、見た目にも美しいし、食べ物なら誰ももらって困らない。

but I went to some shops this time to look for presents for my partner's family
and see my friend who works in the shop.
And I found there are so many interesting stuff!
We can't make light of them.......


でも、普段は普通のおみやげ物屋にはあまり行かない私ですが、
今回、友達が働いていたり、フランスの家族へのプレゼント探しで行ってみると、
面白いものがたくさんあってびっくり！

Around Kiyomizu-dera is one of the most traditional area in Kyoto.

I think it is the best part of Kyoto.

This area is protected as Groups of Traditional Buildings.

清水を出たら、いよいよ京都の伝統的な町並みを見せるために町へ。

私が、一番京都らしいと思うお気に入りの場所。

清水寺の周辺は、古い町並みが残る歴史的な地域で、保護されて大切にされています。

 The sloping path leading straight to Kiyomizu-dera is called Kiyomizu-zaka (Matsubara Street).

There is a lot of souvenir shops on this street.

You can get any souvenirs of Kyoto.

清水寺へとまっすぐ続くこの清水坂（松原通）には、たくさんのおみやげ物屋がずらり。

Creperie*Le Sainte-Barbe @Saint-Malo

今日はサン・マロのおいしいクレープ屋さんをご紹介!

サン・マロについたところでもうすでにお昼の時間を過ぎていたので、
速攻でランチの場所を探しました。

とはいっても、もろに観光客向けのお店はいやだったので、
門を入ってすぐのレストラン街には目も向けず、ちょっと入ったところにクレープ屋さんを発見。

お客さんもほぼ満杯だったので、おいしいに違いない、とここに決定。


I'll show you the best creprie in Saint-Malo today.

When we got Saint-Malo,  it was already past lunch time, so we looked for somewhere to eat.
But I didn't want a restaurant which is too touristic so we were not interested in restaurants near the gate.
We found a creperie a little way off busy streets.
It was almost full, I thought it should be a nice creperie.

ギンガムチェックの赤と、ナチュラルなインテリアがかわいい。

I liked the red gingham and the natural interior.

さて、ランチ!!

前日はブルターニュのスペシャリテをいただいたので、ここは王道にしておく!?
（ガレットの典型的な組み合わせは、卵、ハム、チーズ）

けど、やはりここでも一応お店の人のお勧めを聞いておこう!

で、このトマトと卵のクレープになりました。

卵がとろけてうま～い！

前日のクリームガレットとはうってかわってのトマト味だったので、これもまたよし!!

もちろんシードルと一緒にいただきました。


The lunch!
I wondered that I should take a typical galette because I had a specialite of Bretagne the previous day.
(A typical galette menu is ham, cheese, and egg.)
But I thought I should ask their recommendation from the staff.
In the end, I took this tomato sauce galette.
The egg was melting....Yummy!!
It was very good in strong contrast to the cream sauce one I had the day before.
Of course I took cidre too.

ガレットを食べると、いくら満腹でも甘いクレープが食べたくなる…。

やっぱりいっちゃいました。

私はわりと、いつもバター&シュガーの組み合わせに落ち着いちゃうのですが、
なんだかこの日はせっかく本場のクレープ屋にいることだし!
と、ほかの味も食べたくなってしまいました。

で、選んだのはこれまたノルマンディー（サン・マロはブルターニュなんだけど）のスペシャリテ？
キャラメルとりんごのクレープ。

この組み合わせでおいしくないわけないでしょう!!

たっぷりのキャラメルソースに甘いりんご、そして生クリームまで!!

あああ、幸せ…。

もうそこから動きたくない、午後の間中まったりしてたい。と思ったほどです。

ところが、これもめちゃめちゃおいしかったんですが、
相方さんが頼んだバター&シュガーのクレープが、
なんと今まで食べた中で一番おいしかったという…。皮肉な結果に。

サン・マロへもう一度行くことがあったら、
私は必ずここでバター&シュガーのクレープを食べるつもりです。


After I have galette, I always want a sweet crepe as a dessert.  Of course I did......
I always take a butter & sugar crepe.
But I feel like I want to try the different tastes as I was in Bretagne, the home of crepe.
I took the specialite of Normandie, a caramel and apple crepe.
The combination must be good!!!!!!!
The rich caramel sauce and sweet apples, and whipped cream too!!
Oh....I was so happy that I wanted to stay there whole afternoon!
My crepe was so delicious, however, my partner ordered my usual crepe, butter & sugar,
and it was the best butter & sugar crepe ever..........!!!!!!!!!!

今日はサン・マロのおいしいクレープ屋さんをご紹介!

サン・マロについたところでもうすでにお昼の時間を過ぎていたので、
速攻でランチの場所を探しました。

とはいっても、もろに観光客向けのお店はいやだったので、
門を入ってすぐのレストラン街には目も向けず、ちょっと入ったところにクレープ屋さんを発見。

お客さんもほぼ満杯だったので、おいしいに違いない、とここに決定。


I'll show you the best creprie in Saint-Malo today.

When we got Saint-Malo,  it was already past lunch time, so we looked for somewhere to eat.
But I didn't want a restaurant which is too touristic so we were not interested in restaurants near the gate.
We found a creperie a little way off busy streets.
It was almost full, I thought it should be a nice creperie.

ギンガムチェックの赤と、ナチュラルなインテリアがかわいい。

I liked the red gingham and the natural interior.

さて、ランチ!!

前日はブルターニュのスペシャリテをいただいたので、ここは王道にしておく!?
（ガレットの典型的な組み合わせは、卵、ハム、チーズ）

けど、やはりここでも一応お店の人のお勧めを聞いておこう!

で、このトマトと卵のクレープになりました。

卵がとろけてうま～い！

前日のクリームガレットとはうってかわってのトマト味だったので、これもまたよし!!

もちろんシードルと一緒にいただきました。


The lunch!
I wondered that I should take a typical galette because I had a specialite of Bretagne the previous day.
(A typical galette menu is ham, cheese, and egg.)
But I thought I should ask their recommendation from the staff.
In the end, I took this tomato sauce galette.
The egg was melting....Yummy!!
It was very good in strong contrast to the cream sauce one I had the day before.
Of course I took cidre too.

ガレットを食べると、いくら満腹でも甘いクレープが食べたくなる…。

やっぱりいっちゃいました。

私はわりと、いつもバター&シュガーの組み合わせに落ち着いちゃうのですが、
なんだかこの日はせっかく本場のクレープ屋にいることだし!
と、ほかの味も食べたくなってしまいました。

で、選んだのはこれまたノルマンディー（サン・マロはブルターニュなんだけど）のスペシャリテ？
キャラメルとりんごのクレープ。

この組み合わせでおいしくないわけないでしょう!!

たっぷりのキャラメルソースに甘いりんご、そして生クリームまで!!

あああ、幸せ…。

もうそこから動きたくない、午後の間中まったりしてたい。と思ったほどです。

ところが、これもめちゃめちゃおいしかったんですが、
相方さんが頼んだバター&シュガーのクレープが、
なんと今まで食べた中で一番おいしかったという…。皮肉な結果に。

サン・マロへもう一度行くことがあったら、
私は必ずここでバター&シュガーのクレープを食べるつもりです。


After I have galette, I always want a sweet crepe as a dessert.  Of course I did......
I always take a butter & sugar crepe.
But I feel like I want to try the different tastes as I was in Bretagne, the home of crepe.
I took the specialite of Normandie, a caramel and apple crepe.
The combination must be good!!!!!!!
The rich caramel sauce and sweet apples, and whipped cream too!!
Oh....I was so happy that I wanted to stay there whole afternoon!
My crepe was so delicious, however, my partner ordered my usual crepe, butter & sugar,
and it was the best butter & sugar crepe ever..........!!!!!!!!!!
If I go back to Saint-Malo again, I definitely go back to this creperie and take a butter & sugar crepe.

Shopping at Anthropologie

皆さん、クリスマスショッピングは終わりましたカー!

私は今年はほぼすべて日本で終えてきたにもかかわらず、まだ何かと…。

プレゼントを選ぶのは好きだけど、こうも毎年だと本当にやってられません。

欧州人はすごいよ。現金でよいお年玉はなんと楽なシステムなことか。

私は普段、個人経営の小さなショップのほうが好みなので、
あまりオックスフォードストリートなどで買い物することはないのですが、
（それに、この時期オックスフォードストリートで買い物なんて自殺行為!）
私の通うダンススタジオがSelfridgesの目の前なので、先日ちょいとのぞいてみたらば、
地下にできていたAnthropologieのコーナーに釘付け!

Anthropologieは名前だけ知っていて、
服のブランドだと思って店に入ったことなかったのですが、
雑貨のセレクトがとってもよかった!!

というわけで、リージェンツストリートにある本店へ行ってきました。


Have you finished your Christmas shopping?

I finished most of the shopping but I still need some.....
I like choosing presents but it's really difficult to choose something nice for everyone every year....
I respect Western people who do Christmas shopping every year.....
We have a custom to give money to children in new year's day in Japan.  That's so easy......

I prefer small independent shops so I don't normally go to Oxford Street for shopping
(specially, this season is awful to go shopping there!)
But my dance studio is in front of Selfridges and I popped in a few days ago.
I loved the pop up shop of Anthropologie in the basement.

I knew only the name of Anthropologie and I thought it is a clothes shop.
But there were so nice tableware and items....
So I went to their big Regent's Street shop.

 
たくさんのブランドがひしめき合う日本と比べると、
イギリスのブランドってそんなに多くないんです。
（そしてそんなに私好みのブランドがないので興味も持てない）

特にオックスフォードストリートやリージェンツストリートにある服屋って、
どこも大量生産で、店先にどっさり同じ服が置いてあるのを見ると、
誰かが同じのを着てそう…と思っちゃって、あんまり買う気がおきない。
（某ハイストリートファッション店で働いといてなんですが。）
なので最近はもっぱら古着オンリーの私。

そんな私が久々にハイストリートのお店へ。
でもAnthropologieは服は何階、雑貨は何階と分けることなく、常に一緒においていて、
しかも雑貨がたくさんおいてあったので、見るのも楽しかったです。


Compared with Japan which has more various brands,
there's not so many in UK.
(maybe they are just not my taste so I can't get interested in them....)
Specially high street shops are mass producers
and I don't feel like buying something when I see so many same clothes in shops.
So these days I only wear vintage clothes.......
It'd been ages to shop in high street.
Anthropologie was interesting to shop because they have lots of nice items for home.

店内はもちろん、クリスマス一色。

Christmas stuff was everywhere in the shop.

ひょっとしたら、今はクリスマスシーズンだから特別?　なのか、
本当に店の半分は雑貨、という感じでした。

センスもよく、本も置いてあったりして、プレゼント選びに事欠かないと思います。


It was special because it's before Christmas?
The half of the shop is items for home and books.
They have a good sense for presents too.




カラフルな雑貨や、ちょっとヴィンテージチックなアイテムなど、私の好みにどんぴしゃ。

Items are colourful and a bit vintage like..... It's really my taste.



写真左のペーパーマットと、ヴィンテージチックなスタイルの計量スプーンが欲しくてたまらなかった!

でも冷静に考えたら、
ペーパーマットよりも普通のほうが経済的だし、
計量スプーンよりも普通のスプーンを使うほうが便利なんだよね．．．
という結果になり、思いとどまる。セーーーーフ!!

ナタリー・レテのお皿もかわいい．．．。

ほかにも気になったのはあったけれど、クリスマスのあとのセールまで我慢。


I wanted this paper mat and vintage like measuring spoons.
But after I thought about it calmly,
cloth mats are more saving money and normal spoons are more convenient for me to use.....
So I didn't buy them!  Phew!!!
However the plates by Nathalie Lete is so cute.....
I found more nice stuff but I won't buy them until the sales after Boxing day.

でも、お気に入りのでかマグカップを探していた私の心を捉えたのがこちら。

最初、形がかわいいのでアルファベットのマグカップにしようかと思ったら、
なんと、Selfridgesのお店では私たちのイニシャルであるMとSだけが売り切れ!

リージェンツストリートの本店でもSは見つけられませんでした。

イギリスで最も人気のある名前のイニシャルはどうやらSのようです。


However, I was looking for my regular big mug cup and those cups caught my eyes.
I love the alphabet cup because I like the shape.
But only the cups of our initials M & S were sold out at Selfridges.
I couldn't find S in the Regent's Street shop too.
I guess the initial of the most popular name in UK is S.

で、結局こちらのマグにしました!

手書きのティーカップがまたかわゆい!

本当はヴィンテージのティーカップ＆ソーサーで優雅に飲みたいのに、
ちっさいティーカップではぜんぜん足りない!

そんな私の思いを見事に形にしてあります。


Then I bought this cup!!  I love the hand-drawing of the tea cup.
In fact, I want to have tea with a vintage tea cup and saucer, but a tea cup is too small for me!
My idea is embodied in this cup :)

裏も何気にかわいい!

相方さんにも同じシリーズで別柄をお買い上げ~。

ほかにもかわいいティータオルをプレゼント用に購入。（本来の目的、無事達成．．．）

しかし、まったく買う予定でなかったのも思わず．．．。


The bottom is also cute!
I also bought another cup in different design but the same series for my partner.
I bought a tea towel for a Christmas gift too. (That was a primary purpose to come to the shop...)
But also I bought another thing which I didn't plan to buy.....

それがこちら!!　フランス菓子の料理本。

クリスマスはまたもや相方さんが仕事なので
（ずっと働くわけではないけど、連絡があるまでコンピューターから離れられない）
 今年のクリスマスはずーっと家にこもりきり。

なので、お菓子作りでもしようぜっ、と話していたのです。

普段ならネットでレシピを調べて、本を買うなんてまずないのですが、
なぜこの本をいきなり買う気になったかというと．．．


It's a French baking book!
We can't go out for a week around Christmas because of my partner's work.
We are going to be stuck at home.  So we were thinking to bake something in Christmas.
Usually I check recipes on the internet.  I don't buy cooking books.
The reason why I bought this book all of sudden is......

そして、このステキなヴィンテージテーブルウェアを使った写真たち!

これが決め手となりました!!　　（もうレシピの内容、まったく関係なし!）

近々引越しが決まった私たち。

この本を見て、どんなヴィンテージのテーブルウェアを買えばよいか、研究しようと思います。


and those photos showing beautiful vintage tableware!!
Those made my mind to buy!  ( I didn't care about the recipes!!)
We are moving soon and need some tableware too.
So I'll check these photos and think about what sorts of tableware I should buy.


ちなみに、今回の写真はiPhoneで撮ったので、
新しいバージョンのPicasaで遊んでみました。

たのし～い！　トイカメラ的機能がついて、さらに私好みに。

またいろいろやってみよう。

皆さん、クリスマスショッピングは終わりましたカー!

私は今年はほぼすべて日本で終えてきたにもかかわらず、まだ何かと…。

プレゼントを選ぶのは好きだけど、こうも毎年だと本当にやってられません。

欧州人はすごいよ。現金でよいお年玉はなんと楽なシステムなことか。

Kiyomizu-dera~清水寺

His First Japan: Kyoto - Tokyo vol.2      初めてのジャパン（京都、東京）　その2


I'm sorry that I made a gap between this and the last journal about Japan trip.

We went to Kiyomizu-dera from Sanjusangen-do by foot.


前回からちょっと日が開いてしまいましたが、
三十三間堂から歩いて清水寺まで行きました。
七条から行ったことなんてなかったのに、
行ったことがあると勘違いして自分の思うままにずんずん進んでいったら墓地に出てしまい．．．
でも、迷うことなくたどり着いたんだから、すごいぜ私。さすが自称京都出身。（ほんとは滋賀。）

The most popular part is this veranda.  It's called Kiyomizu's stage in Japanese.

In fact, it's been used as a stage for Noh stage, Kabuki and so on to dedicate to the principal image of Kiyomizu-dera since more than 1000 years ago.


清水寺で有名なのは、この清水の舞台。
単なるベランダではなく、実際に舞台としての機能を果たしており、
平安時代から能や歌舞伎など、さまざまな芸能が本尊の観音様にささげられてきました。

The view from the veranda is wonderful.

ここからの眺めは最高なのです。

 You can see the Otowa falls from the veranda.

Each of the clean three falls which is the origin of the name of this temple seemed to have meanings.

However, a lot more meanings appeared with the years,
it seemed all of them are called "the water of a long life".

There are lots of people are queueing to drink the water from the falls!


音羽の滝も眺められます。
清水寺の名の由来ともなった、清い水が沸く３筋の滝は、
その１本１本に意味があったそうですが、歴史とともにほかの意味や諸説が生まれ、
今はだいたい「長寿の水」と伝わっているようです。
その水を飲むために、いつもたくさんの人が並んでいます!

Of course we went to worship.

The principal image is opened to the public once in 33 years.

Normally people worship from here.


もちろん、ちゃんとお参りもしないとね。
本尊は３３年に一度しか公開されません。一般の人はここからお参りします。

I guess it's popular to do sightseeing in Kimono.

I saw lots of girls in Kimono!

I think Kimono makes a lovely picture in Kyoto.


最近は、着物で京都観光するのがはやってるんでしょうか。
たくさんの着物ガールたちを見かけました!
やっぱり京の町と着物は絵になりますね!

The view of temple from outside is also good.

Specially, the temple is surrounded by cherry blossoms in Spring and colour leaves in Autumn, which is amazing.


外から見る本堂もまた格別。
特に春は桜、秋は紅葉に囲まれ、すばらしく絵になります。

We came to Jishu-Jinja.

お隣の地主神社へやってきました。

 We used to build Shinto Shrine and Buddhist temple together.

So lots of shrines are still in Buddhist temple.

There are lots of gods dedicated in the shrine, but the most popular one is......


神仏集合の慣わしにより、多くの仏教寺院敷地内に、神社が併設してあります。
いろいろな神様が祀ってあり、
写真の提灯にも、商売繁盛などいろんなご利益がかかれてありますが、
特に有名なのは．．．

the god of Love.

By the way, the centre board read "Good love, Good marriage."

 ずばり、縁結びの神様。

The reason why this temple is famous for love is maybe this stone.  "The stone of Fortune telling for Love".

You can't see in this photo, but there is another similar stone in the back of the photo.

When you can walk from the stone to the other with closing your eyes, you will get your loved one.


この神社が縁結びで有名なのは、おそらくこの石のせいでしょう。「恋占いの石」
 写真には見えませんが、奥にこれと同じような石がもうひとつあります。
片方の石から、目を瞑ってもう一方の石までたどり着くことができたら、恋がかなうといわれています。

 This couple might pray for their love......

このカップルたちも、自分たちのことをお祈りしているのでしょうかね．．．。

That day,  we saw the the beautiful sunset in Japan!

この日、日本に着いて初めてすばらしい夕焼けを見ることができました!

I saw lots of girls in Kimono!

I think Kimono makes a lovely picture in Kyoto.


最近は、着物で京都観光するのがはやってるんでしょうか。
たくさんの着物ガールたちを見かけました!
やっぱり京の町と着物は絵になりますね!

The view of temple from outside is also good.

Specially, the temple is surrounded by cherry blossoms in Spring and colour leaves in Autumn, which is amazing.


外から見る本堂もまた格別。
特に春は桜、秋は紅葉に囲まれ、すばらしく絵になります。

We came to Jishu-Jinja.

お隣の地主神社へやってきました。

 We used to build Shinto Shrine and Buddhist temple together.

So lots of shrines are still in Buddhist temple.

There are lots of gods dedicated in the shrine, but the most popular one is......


神仏集合の慣わしにより、多くの仏教寺院敷地内に、神社が併設してあります。
いろいろな神様が祀ってあり、
写真の提灯にも、商売繁盛などいろんなご利益がかかれてありますが、
特に有名なのは．．．

the god of Love.

By the way, the centre board read "Good love, Good marriage."

 ずばり、縁結びの神様。

The reason why this temple is famous for love is maybe this stone.  "The stone of Fortune telling for Love".

You can't see in this photo, but there is another similar stone in the back of the photo.

When you can walk from the stone to the other with closing your eyes, you will get your loved one.


この神社が縁結びで有名なのは、おそらくこの石のせいでしょう。「恋占いの石」
 写真には見えませんが、奥にこれと同じような石がもうひとつあります。
片方の石から、目を瞑ってもう一方の石までたどり着くことができたら、恋がかなうといわれています。

 This couple might pray for their love......

このカップルたちも、自分たちのことをお祈りしているのでしょうかね．．．。

That day,  we saw the the beautiful sunset in Japan!

この日、日本に着いて初めてすばらしい夕焼けを見ることができました!
