さて、腹ごしらえをした後は、第２ラウンド。
ベルリンで最大と言われている壁公園の蚤の市。


After lunch, here comes the second round.
The biggest flea market in Berlin in Mauerpark.

商品のもこもこマットにうずもれてお昼寝していた女の子。The girl was napping on the stall...

もう、めちゃめちゃ期待して行った、壁公園の蚤の市。
 本当に広くて、ずーっと奥のほうまで広がっている。
でも、たぶん冬だからかストールは少なかったと思う。
まだまだ空きスペースがあったので、夏にはこのスペースが埋まるくらいストールが出るんだろうか。


I was soooooooo looking forward to going this flea market in Mauerpark.
It was so big, you can just go and on and on to the inside.
But I guess there were not many stalls because of the Winter season.
There were lots of empty space.
I wonder those empty space would be occupied with stalls in Summer.....

大量のカップたち。根こそぎ見たけれど…

So many chinas.......　　I checked everything, but nothing I fancied.

ドイツ語はわからないけど、文面から見て、
「白雪ちゃんと紅薔薇ちゃん」かな。
どんなお話だったっけ?


I don't understand German, but I guess it is "Snow White and Rose Red"....
I forgot the story.....

ずらーーーーーーっと並べられたガラクタたち。
あまりにも多くて、見るのが大変!
こういうところから掘り出し物を探すのが醍醐味なのはわかるのですが、
私、これがとても苦手なのですよ…。
ヴィンテージ好きの風上にも置けないですね!
なのに、隣にいたこのお姉さんは、あっという間にどこから見つけてきたのか、
とってもステキなものをいっぱい抱えていて…
さすがだわー、こうあるべきなのだわ！
と尊敬しつつ、私も一生懸命全部の箱を見たのですが、収穫ナシ。
他にも、思ったほどわくわくするストールはなくって、がっかり…
先に行った６月１７日どおりの蚤の市のほうでも空振りだっただけに。
 でも、やっぱり寒すぎて外にいられず、ゆっくり見てなかったというのもあるし、夏に期待したい!


So many junks in the boxes!!!
There were too many to check everything......
I know it's fun to find a treasure from junks, but I really don't like to check up all junks.....
I am not bargain hunter......
But the girl in the photo have found so many nice stuff in the blink of an eye............
Woooow, she is PRO!!
I tried to check every single boxes, but I couldn't find anything nice.
I couldn't see any other cute stalls too......
I was disappointed so much as I couldn't buy anything the market I went before this.
But it was VERY VERY cold so I couldn't see properly.
Maybe there will be more & cuter stall in Summer!!!!

Winter Berlin Story 　Jan-Feb 2012　vol.4


さて、腹ごしらえをした後は、第２ラウンド。
ベルリンで最大と言われている壁公園の蚤の市。


After lunch, here comes the second round.
The biggest flea market in Berlin in Mauerpark.

商品のもこもこマットにうずもれてお昼寝していた女の子。The girl was napping on the stall...

もう、めちゃめちゃ期待して行った、壁公園の蚤の市。
 本当に広くて、ずーっと奥のほうまで広がっている。
でも、たぶん冬だからかストールは少なかったと思う。
まだまだ空きスペースがあったので、夏にはこのスペースが埋まるくらいストールが出るんだろうか。

蚤の市めぐりの合間に、カフェめぐりも忘れません。

壁公園のほうのエリアにはかわいいカフェがちらほら。

そのうちの一つ、Napoljonska。

Between antique markets,  I had to visit cute cafes in Berlin.

In the area of Mauar park, there are some lovely cafes.

This is one of them, Napoljonska.  

 お店は壁から天井まで、Pink, pink, pink!

そしてカラフルでモダンなランプシェードがかわいい。


The cafe is pink, pink, pink!!
 The colourful lamp shades are cute.

 テーブルクロスもピンクのギンガムチェック。

お店のロゴの女の子もかわいい!


Tablecloths are pink gingham check.
The girl of their logo is cute too!!

入り口入ってすぐのカウンターにはおいしそうなケーキが並んで。

棚に並ぶカラフルなスィーツもさえもかわいいよ。

だけど、こちらの売りはなんと言ってもワッフル。


There were so many beautiful cakes in the counter by the entrance.
The colourful sweets in jars on the shelf are pretty too.
But, their selling point is waffle.



…でもここにはランチしにきたのでした。

ランチにワッフル食べるわけにもいかないし、ここはキッシュで。


But we came for lunch here.
We couldn't take waffle for lunch so we took quiche.

 ボリュームたっぷりのキッシュ。     A big quiche.

 このお皿に一目ぼれ!

こんなかわゆいヴィンテージのお皿を次のマーケットで見つけたいわ!

この日は次のマーケットに急いでいたのでデザートの時間はなかったのだけれど、
やっぱり、ワッフルも食べないといけないじゃない!?

というわけで、別の日にワッフルを食べに戻ってきました。


I fell in love with this plate.
I'd love to find this kind of vintage plates in the next market!
We didn't have time for dessert to hurry to another market,
But, we have to eat their waffle, don't we!?
So we came back there another day for waffle.  :)

 私はワッフルって、マネケンで売ってるような、リエージュワッフルのほうが好みだったんですが、
ベルリンに行ってから、ブリュッセルタイプのワッフルもおいしいと思うようになりました。

というのも、どこかで食べたブリュッセルタイプがすかすかで、ぜんぜんおいしくなかったから…。

でも、ベルリンのワッフルはもちもちで、トッピングもおいしかった～!

ベルリンには他にもワッフルを売りにしているカフェがあって、はまってしまいましたよ。


I used to prefer the Liege waffles to Brussels waffles.
But, since I had Brussels waffles in Berlin, I became fond of that too.
It was totally different texture from the one I had before......
Waffles in Berlin was so good and toppings were also gorgeous!!
There are more cafes selling waffles in Berlin.  We went to other cafes too.

さて、このカフェに戻ってきたのはワッフル以外にも目的がありました。

実は、蚤の市でヴィンテージ雑貨をもりもり買おうと意気込んでいた私、
結果はなんと収穫ゼロという悲惨なもの。

でも憧れのベルリン、何か買って帰りたいんだー!!　と躍起になっていた私が、
どうしてもどうしても忘れられなかったのがこのお皿。


There was another reason to come back to the cafe other than their waffle.
I couldn't get anything nice in antique markets in Berlin so I was really disappointed.
I wanted buy something in Berlin, then I couldn't forget about this cute plate.

 かわゆいコマドリちゃんがちょこんと真ん中にあって、金のドットの縁取りもかわいいこのお皿。

ここベルリンでも、「お店に売ってるヴィンテージ雑貨、すべて売ります」的なカフェがあるので、
このカフェでも頼み込めば売ってくれるかもしんない！

と、腹黒い目的でカフェのお姉さんに尋ねたところ、
このかわゆいお皿、実はヴィンテージでなく、普通に量販しているお皿だったのでした。

え…普通にお店で買えるんだったら、絶対に買って帰る!!

と、お皿の裏のブランド名だけチェックして、執念でお皿を売っているお店を割り出しましたよ。

我ながら、すごいわ～、その執念。

ベルリンの大手デパート、Kadeweで普通に買えました。

せっかくだったのでゲスト分も合わせられるように結構な数を担いで帰りました。

…でもね、このブランド、実はとっても有名で、私も以前に見たことあった。

しかもロンドンで。

そして、このお皿、普通にロンドンでも売ってるし!

しかも今ならSelfridgesでセール価格で手に入ります。

このブログを見て、この皿欲しい!と思った方、お近くのデパートで案外お手軽に手に入るかも。

私にとっては、そんなベルリンの思い出の品となりました。


The cute robin is in the middle of the plate, and small golden dots are in the edge....  Loved it!!
There were some cafes in Berlin which are selling their vintage stuff in their cafe.
So I asked them if they could sell the plate to me.
In fact, it was not vintage and anyone can buy it in the shop.
So I checked the brand name and found the shop in Berlin.
I could buy them in Kadewe which is the famous department store in Berlin.
But I found out I could have bought them in London too!!
Now, Selfridges is selling this in sale price.........
If you want this plate too, you can buy it in a department store near your place.

Between antique markets,  I had to visit cute cafes in Berlin.

In the area of Mauar park, there are some lovely cafes.

Galette des Rois 2013

今年もやってまいりました、１月６日の公現節。

東方の三博士がキリストを訪問した日が、なぜかパイを食べてゲームをする日に。
 （ロワ（王たち）とは、三博士のこと。）

パイの中にはフェーヴといわれる陶器の人形が入っていて、
その人形が当たった人は祝福され、その一年幸福に恵まれる、というもの。

うちの家族もたった二人で、２分の一の確立を毎年争っております。

今年は、楽しみにしていた「Belle Epoque」のもの。

Belle Epoqueは大好きだけれど、遠いのでいつも買いにいけなくて。

最近になって、Belle EpoqueのケーキがSelfridgesで買えると判明。

Selfridgesは私が通うダンススタジオの近くなので、お手軽!!


Here comes 6th of Jan again, Epiphany.
It's the day which the three kings visited the baby Jesus Christ,
but it became the day which people eat a pie called Galette des rois.
There is a porcelain figurine inside of the pie.
If you get it inside of your piece, you are blessed with good fortune for the year.
My partner and I compete the probability of 50% every year.
Our galette this year is from Belle Epoque.
I love the bakery but it's a bit far from our place.
But I recently found that Selfridges is selling their cakes.
Selfriges is just in front of my dance studio.  How convenient!!

今年は、 日曜日だったので、しっかり土曜日の夜に購入していたら、
相方さんが朝からガレット・デ・ロワ食べよう!　と、釘付け。

しかも朝の回は二人ともはずれだったので、 午後のお茶にまた一切れ…。

で、一日でしっかり二人でホールケーキを食べてしまった!　おそろしや。

シャルボネル・エ・ウォーカーのトリュフは相方さんから。

毎年私がガレット・デ・ロワを調達しているから、プチプレゼント、とのこと。

そして、２回目の決戦でついに…。


This year's Epiphany was Sunday so I already bought it on Saturday.
 My partner insisted to have it for breakfast....
But Neither of us couldn't get a feve so we had another piece in afternoon.
We ate a whole cake in a day!!  Oh my god.....
My partner bought a box of Charbonnel et Walker truffles as a present for me
since I bought galettes every time.....
And finally in the 2nd round.....

フェーヴ発見!　わたくしが女王よ　：）

I got it!!!!  I'm the Queen :)

残念だったのは、ガレット・デ・ロワを知らないイギリス人のために、
「こんなん入ってます」と、店頭であらかじめフェーヴを見せていたので、
いつもの「どんなフェーヴが入ってるのかな!?」というわくわく感がなかったこと。

おまけに…あんましかわいくない。

パイ自体は、とーーーーーーってもおいしくて、今まで食べたガレット・デ・ロワの中でベストだったのだけれど、
やっぱり毎年フェーヴをコレクションしたい私としては、リピするかは微妙。

う～～～ん、フェーヴさえかわいければ絶対来年も買うのになあ。

でも来年は、ぜひブリオッシュタイプを食べてみたいなあ。

というわけで、今年一年、幸先よさそうです。


It's a shame that the shop already showed me the feve
to show a feve to English people who don't know about Galette des Rois
to let them know what the feve looks like and that is inside of the pie.
I wanted to be thrilled to know how the feve looks like.
But this is not cute....................
The galette from Belle Epoque was soooooooooooooo tasty and it was acutually best in my life,
but I want to collect feves every year, I want a cute one!!!!
I definitely would buy one next year again only if they have cutier feves.........
But I'd love to try brioche type galette des rois next year.
Anyway, the good start of 2013 for me :)

パイの中にはフェーヴといわれる陶器の人形が入っていて、

New Year Resolutions 2013

2012年を振り返ってみて、去年はなんだか生活にいっぱいいっぱいだったと感じました。

一年の療養が終わって仕事が始まって、ピラティスクラスが始まって、一日一日が精一杯だった私。

なんだかんだで疲れてるから、と言い訳をしてあんまり進歩がなかった一年でした。

今年はその言い訳を禁止して、いろいろ成長したいなあ。


Looking back over 2012,  my mind and life was too occupied with my daily routine.
After a year of my sickness leave, I got back to my work, started my Pilates teaching.
It was all I could do to cope with things everyday.
I made an excuse for this and that saying "I'm tired.."
In the end, I didn't make any progress in anything.
I must stop making excuses and would like to grow up.



1, Keep in touch with my friends MORE.　もっと友達と連絡を取って会う。

　　日本にいる友達はおろか、ロンドンにいる友達ともぜんぜん会わなかった今年。
　　ただでさえロンドンの友達って行ったり来たりなのに…。
　　これはほんとに、最優先の目標。


2, Do not leave the things I don't want to until later.　やりたくないことを後回しにしない。

　　これは私の治らないわるい癖…。このせいでどんだけ周りの人に迷惑かけているか。（特に相方さん。）

3, Keep my accounts.　家計簿をつける。
　　
　　いつもやろうと思って続かないんだけど、今年こそ。


4, Spend less, save more.　浪費せず、もっと貯金する。

　　言うまでもなかれ。


5, Expand The Mad Vintage.  The Mad Vintageの拡大。

　　置いてもらえるお店をもう1店、もしくはオンラインショップ…。


6, Hold a photo exhibition.　写真展をやる。

　　ロンドンで。セントラルのカフェで。絶対やりたい!!
　　日本のカフェで置いていただけるところも、あればお待ちしております～。


7, Sort my photos out.  Finish my past travel journal.  At least, get used to sort them out at once after I take photos.　
　　写真整理。過去の旅行記を終わらせる。最低でも撮った後すぐに整理する癖をつける。

 　　これも、放置する悪い癖。どんどん写真がたまっていっている…。
　　過去の写真を整理し切れなくても、撮った分をすぐに整理する癖をつけたい。


8, Reed books in Japanese and English (at least 10 English books)　本を読む。（英語は最低でも今年10冊。）

　　英国在住8年目。ボキャブラリーのなさ、どうにかしたい。
　　そしてこないだ、日本人に電話で「おっしゃってることがわかりません」といわれた私の哀れな日本語力を回復するためにも、活字を読みたい。
　　そしてもっと「読み応えのある」ブログを目指したい。（量じゃなくて、質ね。）


9, Do the language exchange with my partner EVERYDAY.  相方と語学交換を毎日する。

　　昨年から日本語を習い始めた相方。
　　今期は独学するらしいけど、 毎日ひらがなの復習を欠かさない姿勢に感服。
　　私もがんばらねば。お互いに初級会話、単語を同時に習得していきたい。


10, Start tap dance or swing dance.　タップダンスかスウィングダンスを始める。

　　昨年、「Crazy for you」「雨に唄えば」を見てタップ熱が再発。
　　タップは１０代のときに1年だけやったけど、その後バレエに集中するために断念。
　　やっぱりタップいいなあ。
　　あと、久々にパートナリングダンスやりたい。特にスウィングダンス。


11, Go to theatre more.　　もっと舞台鑑賞。
　　
　　昨年はミュージカルはぽちぽち見たけれど、ダンスをぜんぜん見てない。なんてこと！
　　バレエなら安い席がいっぱいあるし、もっと見に行かなくちゃ!


12, Time organized and sleep more.　時間をうまく使って、睡眠時間をもっととる。


　　だらだらネットをやめて、もっとさくさく物事を進めたい。
　　で、その時間を睡眠に当てたい。療養第一!


13, Find a new job.　新しい仕事を見つける。

　　その睡眠時間をもっととるためにも、新しい仕事を見つけたい。
　　ピラティスかヴィンテージのお仕事だけで食べていけたらいいんですけどねー。

新しい年なので、気分を変えるために久しぶりに髪を染めました。

染めるのは渡英以来の７年ぶり！　

渡英したときは日本人であることを意識して地毛に戻したので。

でも、こんなに明るくしたのははじめてかも。

日本だとやっぱりうくかもと思って、くらめ暗めに落ち着いてたけど、
こちらだとまわりが明るい色ばかりなので、あんまりうかない。（笑

気分が明るくなりました。

春夏にカラフルな服とあわせるのが楽しみだなあ。それまでもつかな。（笑


I've got my hair dyed for the new year.
I haven't done for 7 years!!
It is the first time to get my hair dyed so bright.
I'm satisfied with this colour and it cheers me up. :)
I can't wait for Spring & Summer to wear colourful clothes matching with my hair.

New Year Resolutions 2013

2012年を振り返ってみて、去年はなんだか生活にいっぱいいっぱいだったと感じました。

一年の療養が終わって仕事が始まって、ピラティスクラスが始まって、一日一日が精一杯だった私。

なんだかんだで疲れてるから、と言い訳をしてあんまり進歩がなかった一年でした。

今年はその言い訳を禁止して、いろいろ成長したいなあ。


Looking back over 2012,  my mind and life was too occupied with my daily routine.
After a year of my sickness leave, I got back to my work, started my Pilates teaching.
It was all I could do to cope with things everyday.
I made an excuse for this and that saying "I'm tired.."
In the end, I didn't make any progress in anything.
I must stop making excuses and would like to grow up.



1, Keep in touch with my friends MORE.　もっと友達と連絡を取って会う。

　　日本にいる友達はおろか、ロンドンにいる友達ともぜんぜん会わなかった今年。
　　ただでさえロンドンの友達って行ったり来たりなのに…。
　　これはほんとに、最優先の目標。


2, Do not leave the things I don't want to until later.　やりたくないことを後回しにしない。

　　これは私の治らないわるい癖…。このせいでどんだけ周りの人に迷惑かけているか。（特に相方さん。）
　　ちょっとずつでも気をつけて生きたい。
