Sultanahmet area where we stayed have a lot of sightseeing spots.
You need to have at least a whole day to see the area.
私たちがベースにしたスルタンアフメット地区は、ここだけでも１日以上かかるほど、見所がいっぱい。
Topkapi Palace トプカプ宮殿
It is the palace of the Ottoman Empire, built in the mid of 15th century.
There are several buildings in a huge ground. especially harem is a separated museum (extra fee).
It is so HUGE, it took a half day to see whole palace. (even though we didn't use the audio guide).
Their jewellery collection was great but we had to queue sooooo long to see them in window showcases.
I would rather to take time to see the beautiful buildings.
Iznik tiles in Harem were so wonderful.
This palace was our first sightseeing spot in Istanbul, and we bought museum passes.That was a great idea.
We are not so interested in museums, but I was keen to see Hagia Sophia and Chora Church.
It paid us back and also we could save time because we didn't need to queue.
１５世紀半ばにオスマン帝国の君主の城として建てられた宮殿。
広大な敷地の中に、建物がいくつもある構造になっていて、その中でもハレムは別館(別料金）になっている。
とにかく広くて人も多いので、見るのに半日かかった！(オーディオガイドも使ってないのにもかかわらず。）
宝物館の宝石類は確かにすごいけれど、宝石を見るだけにかなり長く並んだので、
それよりはハレムの中など建物の美しさを見たほうが全然いい。
ハレムの中などにある建物内のイズニクタイルのすばらしいこと!
初日の一番最初に見たスポットで、ここでミュージアムパスを買ったのが大正解。
美術館にあまり興味はないけれど、絶対行きたかった、アヤソフィア、カーリエ博物館にいけたので元は取れたし、
何よりこのあと長蛇の列に並ばなくてよかったので、時間を節約できたのがうれしい。

Hagia Sophia (Ayasofya Museum) アヤソフィア
It is the one of the most important Byzantine architecture.
It changed into Islamic mosque in the history, beautiful mosaic which was plastered.
After it's revealed, this Byzantine mosaic and Islamic decorations make a very interesting space.
I loved it very much as I like old church and mixed culture.
It was a shame that half of the building was covered by scaffoldings.
I found a cat with tourists, I love that :)

その歴史とともにイスラムのモスクに姿を変え、漆喰に塗りつぶされていたモザイクは、モスク時代のアラビックの装飾とともになんとも不思議な空間を作っている。
古い教会・カルチャーのミックスが好きな私にはたまらない空間。

観光客に混じってにゃんこがいたゆるさも好き。

It is one of the important architecture in Istanbul, renown as Blue Mosque.
We went there in our last day in Istanbul and wee had seen a lot of beautiful mosques until then.
However, we were overwhelmed as the Blue mosque was so magnificent and gorgeous.
Actually we wanted to see it in our first day in Istanbul, but there was always a huge queue.
So we went there just before the prayer time in the early evening. No queue.
We couldn't take time, but we enjoyed to see the beautiful building.
ブルーモスクの名で有名な、イスタンブールの代表建築。
実はこれがイスタンブールで見た最後のモスクで、それまでにすでに美しいモスクをいくつも見てきたのだけれど、
それでもやっぱり圧巻の美しさと壮大さ。
いついっても長蛇の列で、夕方のお祈りの時間の前に滑り込み。(待ち時間なし!）
あんまりゆっくりは出来なかったけれど、十分堪能できました。
