When I booked the tickets to Paris, of course I thought about buying vintage items for The Mad Vintage.
But I knew vintages in Paris is quite expensive.
I asked someone in Paris who loves vintage about flea markets in Paris.
She told me that there were several markets which I can buy vintages with very reasonable price, but those markets were closed in winter.
Shame! But, how can I miss vintage shopping in Paris?
I went to my favourite market in Paris, Marche aux Puces de Vanves.
今回のパリ旅行、もちろん、フランスのかわいいヴィンテージも連れて帰るつもりでいました。
でも何度も行ってみて、フランスのヴィンテージは高いと実感。
そこでパリ在住のヴィンテージ好きの方にお伺いしてみたところ、
やっぱりお手ごろ価格のものは地元の人が行くガラクタ市にあるとのこと。
でもそのガラクタ市はこの時期はもうクローズしてるとのこと…。
残念でしたが仕方ない! というわけで観光客向けだけれどやっぱり見過ごせないヴァンヴの蚤の市へ。
I think that there are 2 famous antique markets in Paris, Clignancourt and Vanves.
I, for sure, prefer Vanves.
It's compact and reasonable prices compared with Clignancourt which is like shop rather than market.
However, I thought items in Vanves were expensive indeed....
I often find French vintages in UK and see French traders in big antique markets in England.
In this market in Vanves, I saw the things which I saw in markets in UK and those were far expensive than in UK.....
I really love this market and there were really lovely junk and gorgeous genuine antiques, but I think this is not good for me to buy for my business.
Having said that, I bought some in the market. lol
パリでは断然クリニャンクールとヴァンヴの蚤の市が有名ですが、私は断然、ヴァンヴのほうが好み。
コンパクトだし、ほとんどお店のようなクリニャンクールと比べると、ちょっとはお手ごろかな、という気が。(気のせい!?）
青空の下の蚤の市、というのも、パリで蚤の市に来てる、という気がして好き。
お値段はやっぱり高かった。
イギリスでもフレンチ・ヴィンテージがはやっていて、大きなマーケットに行けばフランスからのトレーダーの人も結構来ている。
今回このヴァンヴや他のヴィンテージのお店で、イギリスのマーケットでも見かけたものがちょこちょこあったけれど、やっぱり桁違いだった。
ヴァンヴはジャンクから本格的なアンティークまでおもしろい品揃えでそれなりに楽しいけれど、
やっぱり買付けはローカルの人が行く蚤の市、もしくは地方に行かなくちゃだめかなあ!
といいつつ、お手ごろかも!?と思ったものはちょこちょこ買いました。
Lovely small bowl... Very French.
カフェ・オレ・ボウルに弱い。
これはたぶんカフェ・オレ・ボウルとはいえないほど小さいんだけれど、模様と絵柄が気に入って。
大きさからいうと、「う～ン…」と唸るほどのお値段だけれど、でも買えなくもない値段。
パリのお土産ってことで。

I think that the best harvest in this trip was I got a discount for those items with MY FRENCH!!
こちらはThe Mad Vintage用に。
これらを買うときに、私のフランス語が通じてディスカウントしてもらえた!というのが今回一番の大収穫かも。(笑）

And this children book was for my French study and my future baby.
I loved the cute illustration, it's from the 50's.

３匹のクマの絵本は私のフランス語勉強用＆未来のベイビー用に。
絵柄がかわいくて買ったんだけれど、相方曰く、「こんなフランス語ないよ!」とな。
どうやら、カナダが発行元らしいんだけれど、それにしても翻訳するにしてもちゃんとしたフランス語にするだろうし、
とすれば、カナディアンフレンチなのかな、と。
でもちゃんとしたフレンチで頭に入れたいので、ちゃんと訳してもらおう…。
