We went to Kobe, where is one of the most popular area in West Japan.
My mister had never been there, I also hadn't been there for more than 10 years!
I had never done proper sightseeing there, so I got a guide.
Yuka, who is the owner of Cafe du Soleil in Kobe, took us the best spots in Kobe!
今回の旅では１０年ぶりくらいに神戸を訪れました！
相方はもちろん初めてだけれど、私も１０年ぶりでまったくお店とかわからないし、
観光にいたっては一度もまともにしたことなかったので、
今回は地元西宮にお住まいのCafe du Soleilのゆかさんに案内していただきました！
We started from Kitano, where is the North side of Sannomiya station.
This area is one of the most popular sightseeing spot in Kobe.
Kobe used to be the biggest port town in Japan 100 years ago.
Kitano is posh area where foreign rich families had houses.
Those antique European style houses are very popular for Japanese tourists.
We visited two of them.
This is The House of Weathercock. （Kazamidori no Yakata)
まずは、三宮からスタートして、山側の北野の異人館エリアへ。
北野が三宮から歩いていける距離ということすら知らなかった私。
観光とはいえ、やること盛りだくさんだし、相方さんも異人館は見慣れてるはずなので(笑）
ゆかさんおすすめの風見鶏の館のみ見学。
外国の方は異人館は見慣れてるかもしれないけれど、隣にある和風な神社と隣同士のところなんかは、日本ならでは。
It was the house of German merchant.
It's built around 1909.
The inside is very chic with black beams and white walls.
ドイツ人の貿易商、トーマス氏が住んでいたお屋敷。
１９０９年ごろに建てられています。
天井の黒い梁と白壁のコントラストがシックでステキです。
At the outside of the Weathercock House, there was a monkey show.
I had never seen in live!
The monkey was so cute and clever.
風見鶏の館を出たら、猿回しやってました！
猿回し、こんな近くで見たの初めてかも！
かわいいお猿君にテンション上がります。
あとから知ったのですが、ニホンザルは外国人にとっては有名な日本観光のポイントの一つだそうで、
そういえば、ヨーロッパって(野生の）猿いないっぽい！
私は地元近江神宮で普通に遭遇できたので、猿が珍しいなんて考えたことなかったよ…。
相方さんも非常に喜んでおりました。
We visited Moegi (green) House too, which was next to the Weathercock House.
It used to be an American's consul general's house around 1903.
お隣の萌黄の館も、せっかくなので見学しました。
１９０３年ごろに建てられた、アメリカ人総領事が住んでいたお屋敷。
The interior was cute, but there were lots of signs and those ruined the interior a bit.
I suggest that they should have supervisors for interior from stylish antique shops in Kobe!
アンティークなどのインテリアが凝っているところもあれば、「？」なところや「さわらないで！」などの注意書きがいっぱいで残念なところも。
神戸にはセンスのいいヨーロッパのアンティークショップもたくさんあるので、
ぜひインテリアスーパバイザーとしてそこはもっと凝ってみて欲しいです！
After visiting Kitano, we had a lunch in a cafe which has a cat.
and shopping and wandering the town.
異人館を後にしたら、にゃんこがいるカフェでランチタイム。
そしてショッピングをしつつ、街ブラです！
Kobe is also famous for China town.
There were lots of people there, specially in this square, there was a very popular shop and it has a huge queue there.
ロンドンにもあるけど、いちおう中華街も。
この広場には超有名店があるらしく、長蛇の列ができていました。
ロンドンの中華街と違うところは、おいしいところは本当に有名で人が集まるところ。
ロンドンの中華街でそんなお店を、私は知らない…(笑）
ロンドンもがんばって欲しいな～。
I really enjoyed shopping in Motomachi.
There are lots of interesting independent shops.
I came here time to time when I was a student, but of course it has changed a lot.
久しぶりに来た元町。
昔オリーブに載っていたお店やカフェを頼りに歩いたはずなのに、まったく土地感がなくなってました！
小さな路地にあるお店はどれもかわいくて、やっぱり日本のお店はいいなあ、と終始テンションがあがりっぱなしでした。
Sakaemachi has lots of retro buildings with independent shops.
レトロビルがたくさん並ぶ栄町の雰囲気も大好き。
My favourite is Kaigan Building, built in 1911.
I love this kind of European style Japanese buildings built hundred years ago/
お気に入りの海岸ビルヂング。
１９１１年ごろに建てられています。
北野の異人館よりも、私はこの明治時代の日本人が作った洋風ビルの雰囲気が好き。
It has a nice shops, but I thought there used to be more shops.
ステキなお店が入ってました！
昔はもっといっぱいお店が入ってた気がするなあ。
We went to seaside too.
When I came to Kobe, I was just doing shopping and never came to seaside lol.
It was really nice day out to find nice cafes and shops, talk a lot.

夜景も見ながら、海岸もお散歩。
神戸に行ったらお買い物ばかりで海岸行ったことなかった。笑
知らなかった神戸を発見できて、かわいいお店にももれなく行けて、お買い物楽しんで、
ステキなカフェにも行けて、たくさんお話できて、大満足の一日でした！
