The Mad Journalの２０１５年のカレンダーが出来ました!

I made a calendar last year, but only for me.
I decided to sell calendars this year.
The photo theme is seasonal flowers and vintage vessels. 

今年は皆さんにも毎月写真を楽しんでもらおうと、販売することにいたしました!
テーマは去年と同じく、季節の花とヴィンテージの器。

 The inside of the calendar is very simple.
It's UK England calendar.
I am going to sell it for ￡10 at North London Vintage Market in Crouch End this Saturday. (1st of Nov)
The number is limited.
 I will bring a lot of cute vintage items too.
Looking forward to seeing you there.


中身も去年と同じく、シンプルに。
祝祭日はイギリス、イングランドにあわせております。
この土曜日(１１月１日）、クラウチエンドで開かれるNorth London Vintage Marketにて１０ポンドで販売いたします。

I made The Mad Journal 2015 Calendar!!

The Mad Journalの２０１５年のカレンダーが出来ました!

I made a calendar last year, but only for me.
I decided to sell calendars this year.
The photo theme is seasonal flowers and vintage vessels. 

今年は皆さんにも毎月写真を楽しんでもらおうと、販売することにいたしました!

Canal walk ~ Little Venice - Westbourne Park

 Sunday, a really nice sunny day, we went to the canal for a walk.

秋晴れの日曜日、運河をお散歩。

Started from Little Venice.
Before walking, we had a lunch and tea in Clifton Nurseries.

スタート地点は、リトルヴェニス。
その前にすぐ近くのクリフトン・ナーサリーズでランチ＆お茶。

I had never been to West side of the canal from Little Venice, it's very quiet and nice.
There are some pubs by the canal, would love to try one day.
When we got Westbourne Park, we walked to Portbello Road.


リトルヴェニスから西方面ははじめて来たけれど、静かでいいところ。
運河沿いのパブにも行ってみたいなあ。
ウェストボーン・パークに着いたら、そこからポートベローへ。

 The goal was my favourite flower shop!

いつものお花屋さんがゴール!

 Sunday, a really nice sunny day, we went to the canal for a walk.

秋晴れの日曜日、運河をお散歩。

Started from Little Venice.
Before walking, we had a lunch and tea in Clifton Nurseries.

スタート地点は、リトルヴェニス。
その前にすぐ近くのクリフトン・ナーサリーズでランチ＆お茶。

I had never been to West side of the canal from Little Venice, it's very quiet and nice.
There are some pubs by the canal, would love to try one day.
When we got Westbourne Park, we walked to Portbello Road.


リトルヴェニスから西方面ははじめて来たけれど、静かでいいところ。
運河沿いのパブにも行ってみたいなあ。

Istanbul ~the bridge between East and West ~ ヒガシとニシをつなぐ街、イスタンブール   Oct 2014 Vol.4

まだまだスルタンアフメットには見所がいっぱい。

Basilica Cistern (Yerebatan Sarnici)     地下宮殿

It used to be a cistern from Eastern Roman Empire (4-6th century).
It is very fantastical to see many pillars on the water under the ground.
Those pillars and Medusa shaped foundation were odd items, not made for the cistern.
You can still see fishes in the water.

地下宮殿という名の、東ローマ帝国時代(４－６世紀）の貯水池。
水が張られた地下の空間に並ぶ装飾された柱は、とても幻想的。
これらの柱や不気味なメデューサの土台などは、半端材料で適当に持ってこられたものらしい。
貯水池には今も魚が泳いでいる。

Little Hagia Sophia (Kucuk Ayasofya Camii)    キュチュク・アヤソフィア・ジャーミィ

The mosque used to be a church of Greek Orthodox.
It is a very cosy mosque with beautiful fine blue decoration.

「小さなアヤソフィア」という名前のモスク。
元はギリシア正教の教会だった。
白を基調に、ブルーの細やかな装飾がとてもきれいでこじんまりとしたモスク。

Arasta Bazaar     アラスタバザール

It's a small bazaar of souvenir shops for tourists near Blue Mosque.
It was a bit pricey, but convenient as some of the shops were opened even in the fist day of Eid.

ブルーモスクのすぐ近くにある観光客向けのおみやげバザール。
ちょっとお高いけれど、Eidの初日にも開いていたので便利。

 Not only Arasta Bazaar, there are a lot of restaurants, hotels, souvenir shops in Sultanahmet.
I will write about my favourite restaurants in the area.

上のアラスタバザールだけでなく、スルタンアフメットの、特にブルーモスクから南のエリアには
たくさんの観光客向けのレストラン、ホテル、お土産屋がずらり。
次回はこのエリアのおすすめレストラン。

Istanbul ~the bridge between East and West ~ ヒガシとニシをつなぐ街、イスタンブール   Oct 2014 Vol.4

まだまだスルタンアフメットには見所がいっぱい。

Keibun-sha Ichijo-ji ~恵文社一乗寺店 @ Kyoto

I am writing about the most famous (probably) book shop in Kyoto / Japan.

今回は、京都でもっとも有名といっても過言ではない本屋さんをご紹介。

Keibun-sha Ichijo-ji.
The reason why this book shop is so popular is the selection of books, after all.
You can find lots of books which you don't really see in other book shops.

けいぶん社一乗寺店。
この本屋の人気の理由はなんと言ってもセレクション。
他の本屋ではあまり見ないようなおもしろい本がたくさん。
 (店内の写真はすべて許可を得ております。）

You can search on the internet for new books or popular books.
However, if you don't know what you are looking for, it's very hard to find a nice book out of the billions that exist.
At Keibun-sha, you definitely find something you like.
They select very interesting books, so you can enjoy just looking at shelves.
Without any effort, you can find something interesting here.


新書や人気の本はインターネットでググればすぐに探せるけれど、けいぶん社で出会えるのは本を良く知っている人、その分野でないと知らないような本。
星の数ほどある本の中から、「こんな本あればいいのに」と思う本を探すのって、どこから手をつけていいかもわからないし、大変。
でもこのけいぶん社なら、とにかく興味深い本が並んでいるので、 本棚を眺めているだけでとても楽しい。
時間をかけて自分で探さなくても、ここなら何か面白いのが見つかりそう、そんな気分になるのだ。

 They sell not only books but also everyday items and stationery, and their selection is fabulous.
To be honest, I am not bookish so that I come to this shop for goods.


本だけでなく、雑貨のセレクトも抜群。
そんなに読書家でない私は、どちらかというと雑貨が狙いだったりする。

I was glad to find out their goods section became bigger when I visited this year.

そんなお気に入りの雑貨セクション、今年行ったときはさらに拡大していてうれしくなりました。

As there is an art university near the shop, they actively interact with artists.
They have a gallery for exhibitions by artists who they selected or locals.
It is pleasure to find new artists in this shop.
They sell those artists' goods too, you can't really see them in other shops.
They recently got a new event space, and hold a lot of interesting events and workshops.
Keibun-sha is the leading source of culture in Kyoto, which you can't take your eyes off
.

芸大が近いこともあって、アーティストたちとの交流も盛ん。
地元のアーティストや、けいぶん社が発掘、選んだアーティストたちの展示をするギャラリーも。
ここで出会うアーティストたちを見るのも楽しみ。
セレクトされた雑貨には、アーティストたちの作家作品もあって、他のお店ではなかなか見られないセレクト。
さらに、新しくできたコテージスペースではもっと多目的なイベントも開催。
常に目が離せない京都の文化発信地なのである。

4 years

It was 4 years anniversary of our marriage last week!
After 4 years, we still have a fun everyday!


先週で結婚４周年を迎えました。
私の誕生日＆４周年記念がトルコだったのですが、やっぱりちょっと特別にしたいと思い、お気に入りのレストランでディナー。
結婚４年だけれど、知り合ってからは、あと１ヶ月で５年。
それだけたったらマンネリ化とかしちゃうんだろうか、と思ったけれど、５年たった今も毎日楽しいし、
むしろバカップルぶりが増して、子供が出来たらこんな親非常にまずいんではないかというくらい、家では二人そろってアホです。
でも楽しいからいいか。

Last Sunday, we went to Richmond.
It was sunny, nice day.


トルコとディナーでお金を使い果たしたわれわれですが、久々に秋晴れした日曜日はリッチモンドのリーズナブルなカフェへ。
その後テムズ川をお散歩。

It was quite warm last Sunday, but it's getting colder and colder....
While it's still bearable weather, I would like to enjoy walking outside..

この日はわりとあったかかったけれど、もうすぐ外を歩くのも億劫な冬になってくる。
出歩けるうちに外を堪能しておこう。

It was 4 years anniversary of our marriage last week!
After 4 years, we still have a fun everyday!


先週で結婚４周年を迎えました。
私の誕生日＆４周年記念がトルコだったのですが、やっぱりちょっと特別にしたいと思い、お気に入りのレストランでディナー。
結婚４年だけれど、知り合ってからは、あと１ヶ月で５年。
