イスタンブールでのカフェ巡りに、インスタグラムを参考にしたのですが、
イスタンブールのおしゃれな人たちが行くカフェの写真でよく見かけ、私がすごく行きたかったのがこちらのカフェ。
最初に訪れたEidの初日はやっぱりお休みでしたが、イスタンブール最終日にリベンジしてやっと行くことができました。

When I went to Istanbul, I checked Instagram to find nice places in Istanbul.
I found some popular Instagramers in Istanbul and realized there is a cool cafe they go.
I really wanted to go to this cafe, but unfortunately it was closed when I visited there for the first time because of the Eid.
In the last day of our Istanbul stay, we could finally go there.

カラバタック・カラキョイ。
カフェやバーがたくさんあるトプハーネにあります。
たくさんある中でも、やっぱりここがずば抜けておしゃれだったし人気がある!

Karabatak Karakoy.
It's in Tophane that is the area have lots of cafes and bars.
I thought this is the most stylish and popular cafe in that area!

天気のいい日に葡萄棚の下、気持ちよくコーヒーブレイクしている人たちがたくさん。

It was a lovely day.  There were lots of people having a coffee break outside under the grapevine trellis.

外にもゆったり座れる席があるのがいい。

Lovely to have comfortable seats outside....

店内のインテリアもとっても好み。
特にサヴィニャックを思わせるポスターがドツボだったのですが、オーストリアのヴィンテージなんだって。

I love the interior.
Specially, I love the posters which reminded me Savignac.  (My favourite French poster designer who was very successful specially in the 50-60s.
But, those posters were from Austria, apparently.

打ちっぱなしの壁にかわいいタイルの床、ゆったりできるレイアウト、シャビーだけどちょっとポップなインテリア…。
とにかく何もかも好みにどストライク。

Undressed concrete wall, cute tiled floor, furniture layout, the shabby and pop interior....
I loved everything!

コーヒーハウスなので食事メニューがそんなにないのがちょっと私にとってはマイナスポイントなんだけれど、
そこはそれ、ヨーロッパでは仕方がない。
サンドイッチしかないカフェがほとんどの中、サラダあるだけでもまだましか!
スウィーツメニューは豊富で、ドリンクも豊富です。
ケーキは、ウェイトレスさんにお勧めを聞いたら、断然このモザイクケーキ、ということでオーダー。
私にはちょっと甘すぎたけど、旅先ではそのお店のおすすめを食べるのが楽しいです、やっぱり。

I wish they had more food menu, but it doesn't matter, they had lots of sweets and drinks!
For dessert, I took a mozaik cake, which a waitress told me that that was the most popular menu.
It was a bit too sweet for me, but I like to try the local's favourite.

もうひとつ、とっても暑い日だったのでアフォガートも注文。
このオリジナルのカップもトルコっぽくてかわいかったのですが、このコーヒーの会社はオーストリアなんだそうだ。
なぜかはわからないけど、イスタンブールのカフェはここの豆を使ってるところが多数。
こちらはお店もあって、このかわいいカップや豆なんかも買えるみたい。

It was a quite hot day, we ordered an affogato.
I love their original cup!  It looked very Turkish, but this coffee company is in Austria.
I don't know why, but I found that there are lots of cafes using this company's coffee.
There was a shop of this coffee company in Istanbul, apparently you can buy beans and this coffee cup.

お勘定入れもヴィンテージの缶!
これもオーストリアかららしく、お店のヴィンテージのアイテムはほとんどオーストリアで仕入れてきたものだそう。
凝ってるなあ～。
こういうチルアウトできるカフェが、ロンドンにも欲しいです!　切に!

The bill  was in a vintage tin!!  How cute!
A waitress told me that this tin and all of vintage items in the shop were from Austria.
Aww, I totally loved that cafe!  I wish we have such a nice cafe in London!

カフェやバーがたくさんあるトプハーネにあります。
たくさんある中でも、やっぱりここがずば抜けておしゃれだったし人気がある!

A day out to the country ~ 田園散歩

先週土曜日、ちょっと離れた町でヴィンテージフェアがあると聞いたので行ってきました。
チケットを取ったときはバスがあると思ったのだけれど、いざ前日になって確認してみたら、
あれ…
バスがない!!　
フェアの会場はとある村で、その村自体には電車が通ってなかったので最寄の町の駅からバスで、と思ってたんですが、
バスが一日に数本しかないという…。
というわけで、泣く泣くタクシーで行く羽目に。
実は本当はバースに行こうかと思ってたんですが、バースよりも電車代が安いという理由でこっちを選んだのに、
タクシー代入れたらバース行きよりも高くついちゃったよ…とほほ。

We went to a vintage fair in South East England.
When I bought train tickets, I thought there was a bus to go to the village.
( The village where the vintage fair was held doesn't have a train station, so I need to take a bus fromt the nearest station.)
But, there was NO bus!! (It was only a few in a day, in very early morning and evening)
I found out the day before......  So we had to take a taxi.
Truth, we were going to go to Bath, but the coach tickets was more expensive than the train ticket to go to the village, so we changed the destination.
However, going to the village was more expensive than going to Bath in the end.....
Anyway, we enjoyed the English country side!

フェアの会場はウィズバラグリーンという村。
とってもピースフルな村で、ちょっと歩いただけだけどステキなおうちがたくさん!!
どの家もかわいくてお庭がすごく凝っていて…。
電車も通らないしバスもほとんどない村なのだけど、フェアは流行のフレンチ・カントリーなおしゃれなもので、
この村のおうちを見た限り、おしゃれなカントリーライフを送っている人たちが多いと見た!

The vintage fair was held in Wisborough Green.
It was so peaceful and there was a lot of beautiful houses and gardens!
The vintage fair was also very cute, full of French shabby style antique and vintages, and flowers!

フェアでお店を出していた人に、ここのパブがおいしいわよ、ということで、会場の目の前のパブでランチ。

We asked a lady who had a stall in the fair if there is a nice place to eat.
She told me a pub which was just next to the fair  was good, so we had a lunch there.

ランチのあとは、またタクシーで電車の駅があるビリングスハーストへ。

After lunch, we headed back to the Billingshurst where the train station is.

まだ早い時間だったので、テクテクお散歩。
電車は通ってるけど、大きな町というわけではなく、のどかな住宅地という感じ。
ふるーい教会があったので行ってみたら、残念ながら結婚式で中には入れず。

The time was still early, so we decided to take a walk.
Although there was a train station, Billingshurst was not a big town, it was a peaceful residential area.
There was an old church.
Unfortunately there was a wedding ceremony going on, so we couldn't get in.

行ってみたらちょうど、結婚式で新郎新婦が出てくるところでした。
新婦さんのドレス、レースがたっぷりでかわいかったな。
教会での結婚式、あこがれます。
もうやっちゃったけど。結婚式って何度もやりたくなる…。
自分たちの手作り結婚式を思い出します。
時間がなくてやりたかったことをすべてできなかったので、またやりたくなるのかも。
でも、あのストレスを思い出したら、まあいいや、と思うんですけど。笑

The bride's dress was very beautiful with lots of laces.
I would love to have an wedding at church, though I have already got married. lol
It reminded me our handmade wedding.
We didn't have enough time so that I couldn't do everything I wanted to.
Probably that's why I feel like I want to do wedding ceremony again.
The stress I had at that time made me stop though lol

教会から続く道にステキな野原がありました。
ここでピクニックとか、いい気持ちだろうな。

There was a peaceful field with flowers.
It would be nice if we had a picnic there.

電車からは菜の花畑も見えて、春爛漫な田園風景を堪能しました。
次回は肝心のヴィンテージフェアのご紹介。

We enjoyed the country view.
We also see beautiful rape field too.
I want to see it close one day.
I will write about the vintage fair next time.

先週土曜日、ちょっと離れた町でヴィンテージフェアがあると聞いたので行ってきました。

実は本当はバースに行こうかと思ってたんですが、バースよりも電車代が安いという理由でこっちを選んだのに、

南ロンドンのお気に入りスポットの一つがクラッパム。
いつもはチューブの駅があるクラッパム・コモンに行きますが、

One of my favourite area in South London is Clapham.
Usually we go to Clapham Common where Tube station is.
Clapham Junction is not far away from Clapham Common and also close by train from our flat.
There are lots of shops too.

そこにいい感じのカフェがあると聞いて早速行ってみました。

I heard that there is a nice cafe in Clapham Junction, so we went there.

ストーリーコーヒー。
クラッパムジャンクションの駅から近い、スタイリッシュなカフェ。

Story Coffee.
A stylish cafe near Clapham station.

決して大きいといえない店内だけれど、すごく居心地がいい。
ロンドンのインディペンデントなカフェはやっぱり土地の事情か、小さいところが多いのだけれど、
いくつものカフェを巡ってわかったことは、小さいカフェでも、空間をうまく使うととっても居心地がいいんだ、ということ。
ガラス張りの店内は自然光がたっぷり入って明るくて気持ちいい。

It's not a big cafe, but very cosy.
I found out that a small cafe can be very comfortable if we use space well.
The cafe has big windows and those let in the light a lot.

こだわりのコーヒー。
表面のラテアートの美しさもさることながら、もちろん、おいしい。

Their well selected coffee.
It's not only a beautiful latte art, also taste good, of course.

ランチに来た私たちでしたが、パンケーキがものすごくおいしそうだったので、頼んじゃった。
左はベイクドエッグ。ケールが入っていて、トマトソースと卵のシンプルなものなんだけど、すごくおいしくて感動してしまった。
パンケーキは、カラメルアップルのパンケーキ。
見た目はすっごく甘そうだけれど、カラメルと言っても色づけ程度だし、シロップも少なめ、クリームに見えるのもリコッタなので、実はそんなに甘くない。
むしろ甘党には物足りないかも。
だけどヘルシーでもちろんおいしくて、朝にはぴったりなのかも。
おいしそうなディナーが食べられるイベントもやっているみたいなので、これも気になるな。

とっても居心地がいいカフェだったので、また絶対リピートしたい。

The left is Baked Egg with kale.
It is very simple dish with tomato sauce and egg, but it was really yummy!!
The right is Caramel Apple Pancake.
It looked very sweet, but actually not.
Syrup was not much and apples were not so sweet.
The one looked cream is ricotta cheese.
Perhaps you might feel like something is missing if you are a sweet tooth.
But I think it is a perfect menu for breakfast.
I am interested in their Supperclub too,  Their food looked very yummy......
It was a lovely cafe to chill out, I must go there again!

南ロンドンのお気に入りスポットの一つがクラッパム。
いつもはチューブの駅があるクラッパム・コモンに行きますが、
そこから歩いてもいけるクラッパムジャンクションは、私の最寄り駅から電車でいけるし、お店もいろいろあるエリア。

One of my favourite area in South London is Clapham.
Usually we go to Clapham Common where Tube station is.
Clapham Junction is not far away from Clapham Common and also close by train from our flat.
There are lots of shops too.

そこにいい感じのカフェがあると聞いて早速行ってみました。

I heard that there is a nice cafe in Clapham Junction, so we went there.

cafe* Sagano-yu @ Kyoto (嵯峨野湯｜カフェ｜嵐山）

There is a retro Japanese style cafe in Arashiyama, Kyoto!

嵐山でほっこり落ち着く、京都らしいレトロなカフェ。

The house is really retro, typical old Japanese house.
It used to be a pulic bath built in the 1920's.

昔ながらのレトロな建物。
大正時代の銭湯をリノベーションしたカフェです。

Old shoe boxes, tiles, the counter....
The interior is stylish modern & retro with the vestige of the public bath.
The inside is well lighted because of big windows and skylight.

古い下駄箱やタイル、番台…
昔の銭湯の面影を残しつつ、すっきりとした明るいレトロモダンのインテリア。
自然光もたっぷり入るし、外にはテラスエリアも。

One of their popular menu is pancake!
They use soy milk and okara (tofu refuse) to make it, so their pancake is very soft.
They have various pancake, specially Japanese style, such as matcha (green tea) and sakura (cherry blossoms) taste.
My partner realy like Japanese style pancake, so we were looking for cafes with good Japanese style pancake.
(Japanese style pancake is thicker than English pancake.  1-2cm.)
We chose a plain pancake.
The pancake was so beautiful full moon shape!

嵯峨野湯といえば…パンケーキ!
豆乳とおからを使ったパンケーキのようです。
抹茶や、桜の季節には桜のパンケーキなど、日本ならではの味が楽しめるのがポイント。
相方が日本のホットケーキが大好きなので、この旅では日本のホットケーキのおいしいカフェを回っていました。
今回はべたにプレーン。
きれいなまん丸パンケーキに、相方、思わず見とれる。

We had a Japanese green tea latte with it.

ドリンクは日本っぽい抹茶ラテで。

They also have a life style shop on the 1st floor.

2階には雑貨ショップもあります。

Those items are all simple and functional, but very stylish.
I bought some items which I was exactly looking for!
I also bought their power stone bracelet.
Beautiful colour and very simple design, so it suits any clothes, then I could wear everyday.

シンプルなデザインで機能的、でもスタイリッシュな雑貨がたくさん。
ここで「こういうのが欲しかった!」という雑貨などいろいろ購入。
こちらで売ってる天然石のアクセサリーも買ってしまいました。
きれいな色のパワーストーンのブレスレット。
ちょうど欲しかった色、デザインでどんな服にも合うので毎日つけられてお気に入りです!

There is a retro Japanese style cafe in Arashiyama, Kyoto!

嵐山でほっこり落ち着く、京都らしいレトロなカフェ。

The house is really retro, typical old Japanese house.
It used to be a pulic bath built in the 1920's.

昔ながらのレトロな建物。
大正時代の銭湯をリノベーションしたカフェです。

Old shoe boxes, tiles, the counter....
The interior is stylish modern & retro with the vestige of the public bath.

昔の銭湯の面影を残しつつ、すっきりとした明るいレトロモダンのインテリア。
自然光もたっぷり入るし、外にはテラスエリアも。

One of their popular menu is pancake!
They use soy milk and okara (tofu refuse) to make it, so their pancake is very soft.
They have various pancake, specially Japanese style, such as matcha (green tea) and sakura (cherry blossoms) taste.
My partner realy like Japanese style pancake, so we were looking for cafes with good Japanese style pancake.
(Japanese style pancake is thicker than English pancake.  1-2cm.)
We chose a plain pancake.
The pancake was so beautiful full moon shape!

嵯峨野湯といえば…パンケーキ!
豆乳とおからを使ったパンケーキのようです。
抹茶や、桜の季節には桜のパンケーキなど、日本ならではの味が楽しめるのがポイント。
相方が日本のホットケーキが大好きなので、この旅では日本のホットケーキのおいしいカフェを回っていました。
今回はべたにプレーン。
きれいなまん丸パンケーキに、相方、思わず見とれる。

We had a Japanese green tea latte with it.

ドリンクは日本っぽい抹茶ラテで。

They also have a life style shop on the 1st floor.

2階には雑貨ショップもあります。

Those items are all simple and functional, but very stylish.
I bought some items which I was exactly looking for!
I also bought their power stone bracelet.
Beautiful colour and very simple design, so it suits any clothes, then I could wear everyday.

シンプルなデザインで機能的、でもスタイリッシュな雑貨がたくさん。
ここで「こういうのが欲しかった!」という雑貨などいろいろ購入。
こちらで売ってる天然石のアクセサリーも買ってしまいました。
きれいな色のパワーストーンのブレスレット。
ちょうど欲しかった色、デザインでどんな服にも合うので毎日つけられてお気に入りです!
