まだあるんですよ、バース。
バースにあるステキなカフェを紹介します。

Today, I will write about a cafe in Bath.

 

カフェ・ルッカ。
大きくて開放的な店内の横には…

It's Cafe Lucca.
Next to this spacious cafe space, there is......

ステキな雑貨やさんが！
他にも服のセレクトショップもある、複合ショップです。
頼んだ料理を待つ間ウィンドウショッピングもできちゃいます。(実際してた。）

There is also clothes shop too.
While you wait for your order, you can do window-shopping! ( I did, in fact.)

天井が高くてひろびろとしたカフェスペース、ゆっくりできます。
テラス席もあるし、外に面した壁はガラス張りなので、寒い日でも日光を楽しむことができます。

This cafe has high ceiling and very large space, you can totally relax there.
They also have a terrace and the cafe space is glass-walled too, you can still enjoy sunshine even if you are inside.

こちらはイタリアン・メディタラニアンのカフェ。
パニーニやブルスケッタのカフェメニューのほか、サラダやキッシュなどもあります。

Cafe Lucca is modern Italian & Mediterranean cafe.
They have panini, bruschetta, salad, quiche, and so on.

この日は相方さんはキッシュにクスクスのサラダ。
私はモッツァレラとトマト・バジルのパニーニ。
どちらも素材が新鮮でおいしい！
盛り付けもステキです。
今度はお茶しに来なきゃ！

My partner had a quiche and couscous salad.
I had a mozzarella, basil, tomato panini.
Both of them were cooked with fresh vegetables!
Love the presentation too.
We have to go back there for tea next time!

クラシックカーブートセールにて。(10月）
ワイドパンツもなかなか難しいシルエットで、なかなか手が出せずにいるアイテム。
そんなワイドパンツデニムをステキにはきこなしているママ発見。
パキッとしたイエローのTシャツ、そして手にしたアイスクリームまでもがぴったりとはまってる。

My favourite addresses in Bath ~ バースのお気に入りアドレス

お待たせしました、今回の旅で訪れたバースのステキな場所をご紹介。

Sorry to keep you waiting, these are my favourite addresses in Bath!

まずはロンドンロードにあるこちらのステキなお店。

This is a really nice shop in London Road.

シャビーシックなスタイルが確立された、引き込まれるお店。
古きよきもの、ベーシックで良質なもの、永遠のスタンダードなラインナップ…。
日本人がすきそうなお店だなあ、と思っていたら、
なんとこのお店のオーナーのエマは大の日本好きだそうで。
日本へ行くという口実を作るためだけに、長年パートナーだった人との結婚を決めたそう。
ステキなインスタグラムのアカウントも人気です。
なんとその名も、「侘びさびライフ」！
店を出た後に相方に「侘びさびって何？」って聞かれましたが…
日本人の私でもうまく説明できないよ。
そんな、ステキなエマのイングリッシュ・侘びさびショップ、バースへ行ったらぜひのぞいてみてください！
彼女のお店にあったゆずキャンドルも、とってもいいにおいだった~！

 This shop has its own shabby chic style which you get drawn in.
Good old things, basic and good quality things, eternal standards.....
I thought that Japanese people would love this shop, and I found out that the owner of this shop loves Japan!
Her Instagram account @owl_emma is also great!!
She called her life "wabisabi"..... maybe she has Japanese spirit more than me!
Check out her English wabisabi shop in Bath.
I was tatally in love with Yuzu (Japanese citrus) candle in her shop...!

先ほどご紹介したOwl in the Ivyのエマがおすすめしてくれたパブでランチしました！

We had a lunch at a pub which The owner of Owl in the Ivy recommended.

コーナーにある小さなパブですが、いい雰囲気です。

It's a cosy pub in the corner.  Great atmosphere.

まずはスープで体を温めます。
イギリスの定番スープ、ポテトとねぎのスープ。
ねぎ味がかなり濃いのが珍しかった！見た目もステキです。

We had a soup for starter.
Leek and potato soup.
The taste of leek was very strong!  The appearance was good too.

メインは、私はタイ、相方さんはポーク。
特に鯛がめちゃくちゃおいしかった~。
あっさりな味付けでいくらでもいけちゃう感じ。
ポークはちょっとテリヤキっぽい味付けでした。
これ、2コースで13ポンドくらいととってもお得！
おすすめです！

I had a sea bream and my partner had a pork.
I loved the sea bream so much!
The taste was quite light, I could have eaten more!
The pork was good too, like teriyaki taste.
It was a very reasonable price as well, 2 courses for 13 quid!
I recommend this pub lunch!

さて、こちらもエマが教えてくれたお店。
ロイヤルクレセントの近くにあるかわいい路地。
ここはお店もカフェも気になっていたんだけれど、日曜はほとんどお休みで全然見れてなかったんです。

This is also a shop which the owner of Owl in the Ivy recommended.
It's in the cute alley near Royal Crescent.
I was interested in this area, but those shops are always closed on Sunday, so I couldn't check any of them.

中へ入ると、そこはデリカフェ。

The ground floor is a deli cafe.

手作りケーキはもちろん、かわいいお菓子やお惣菜も買えちゃいます。

You can get a home made cake, cute sweets, and also delicatessen.

地下にはわくわくするような雑貨がいっぱい！
使い勝手が良さそうで、飽きのこないシンプルなデザインの生活用品に…。

In the basement, there are lots of interesting items!
Simple designed and handy household items....

ステキなヴィンテージ雑貨もいっぱい！

Lots of lovely vintages too!!

おしゃれなステーショナリーもあって、何でも買えちゃう。

They also have cute stationery.

ここで買ったもの。
キュートな鳥柄のエプロンを発見、私のヴィンテージエプロンコレクションに仲間入り。
和食にあいそうなお皿も見つけました！

My shoppings.
I found a cute vintage apron with birdies!! I am collecting vintage aprons, so this is my new collection!
I also bought lovely vintage plates which I can use for my Japanese cuisine!


The Foodie Bulge Shop

歩いていて見つけた、とってもステキな雰囲気のチーズ屋さん。

We found a cute cheese shop on the street.

チーズがずらりと並んでいます！
イギリスのお店だからイギリスチーズしかないかしら、と思ったけれど、フランスのものなど色々ありました！
そしてフランス人も買いに来ていたからきっといいお店のはず！笑

They have lots of cheeses!!
I thought that they might have only English cheese, but actually, they had French cheese too.
Also I saw French customers, so this might be good shop! lol

お店にはチーズのお供もたくさん。
もちろんワインも売ってます。

They also have some things with cheese.
Of course, they have wine too.

お店オリジナルの牛さんバッグもかわいい！

They have an original eco bag!! Cute!

さて、ここに入った理由は、チーズよりもむしろチーズケーキ。
窓辺に並んだケーキたちがとてもおいしそうで。
中でもこのニューヨークスタイルチーズケーキ。
チーズ屋さんのチーズケーキなら間違いないでしょ！ってことで。
イギリスのチーズケーキって、レアチーズケーキのような柔らかチーズであまーいのがほとんどで、あんまり好みじゃないのですが、
ニューヨークスタイルは大好き！
これはどっちかというとその中間という感じ。
レモン風味でおいしかったです！

The reason we chose this cafe was not cheese, but cheesecake!
We saw their cheesecake in the shop window and it looked so yummy.
The cheesecake from the cheese shop must be very good! So we decided to have a teatime here.
I actually don't really fancy English cheesecake but I love New York style cheesecake!
They serve New York style cheesecake, but I would say it was between English and New York style, with lemon flavour.
I loved it!!

Je suis Paris, et Londres

 昨夜のパリの同時多発テロニュースに戦慄が走ったのは私だけじゃないはず。
特に、私は2005年のロンドン多発テロを思い出しました。

It wouldn't be only me to be frightened by the terrible news about the Paris terror attack.
Specially, it reminded me of the London terror attack in 2005.

ロンドンのテロ当時、私はロンドンに来てまだ2ヶ月で、やっとロンドンに慣れてきたところでした。
(そういえば、私が在英10年ということは、テロ発生から10年目ということだった！）

When the London terror attack was happened, I had been in London for just 2 months.
I was just getting used to live in London.
(Oh yeah, My 10 year anniversary of UK life meant 10 years from London terror attack....)

テロ発生当時は何がなにやらわからない状態ということもあり、
(そのときのまわりのロンドナーが結構あっけらかんとしていたのも心強かった）
あとからじわじわとこんなにも恐ろしいことが身近で起こったんだということを理解しました。

When the terror attack was happened, I just didn't understand what was happening.
(Londoners around me were quite cheerful, and that helped me a lot.)
Gradually, I understood how terrible things happened.

というのも、そのテロ発生翌日が、私の人生初のパリ旅行だったのです。
ロンドン以外で初の海外一人旅で、しかも英語圏外、それ以前にパリに行けるのかという事態で頭はパニック。

 Actually, the next day of the terror attack was my first Paris trip.
It was the first time that I travelled abroad alone, also non-English-speaking country.
Before that, I was not sure I can go to Paris or not.
I panicked.

翌日には地下鉄もユーロスターも動いていたけれど、ユーロスターの駅に行く途中で、テロで爆破された車両を見たり、
パリに着いた直後の北駅で不審物発見の騒ぎがあり、避難勧告が出されるなど(結局ただの忘れ物だった）本当にどきどきでした。

Luckily, Tube and Eurostar was running.
However, I saw the carriage which exploded in the attack on the way to the Eurostar station,
also, as soon as I arrived in Paris, there was a trouble because of a suspicious objects in the Nord Station.
In the end, it was just a lost baggage, but it really frightened me.

それでもやっぱり、渦中のロンドンを離れたのは幸いで、
案内してくれた当時パリ在住の友達や、美しいパリの街に本当に救われ、不安がまぎれました。
そのパリが今度襲われていることは本当に残念でなりません。

But, it was really right decision to go to Paris at that time.
Left London where was still in a panic, my friend who was living in Paris and the beautiful town of Paris really healed me.
I feel very sad that Paris was attacked this time.

早く皆がまた自由にあの美しい町を歩けるようになりますように。

 昨夜のパリの同時多発テロニュースに戦慄が走ったのは私だけじゃないはず。
特に、私は2005年のロンドン多発テロを思い出しました。

It wouldn't be only me to be frightened by the terrible news about the Paris terror attack.
Specially, it reminded me of the London terror attack in 2005.

ロンドンのテロ当時、私はロンドンに来てまだ2ヶ月で、やっとロンドンに慣れてきたところでした。
(そういえば、私が在英10年ということは、テロ発生から10年目ということだった！）

When the London terror attack was happened, I had been in London for just 2 months.
I was just getting used to live in London.
(Oh yeah, My 10 year anniversary of UK life meant 10 years from London terror attack....)

テロ発生当時は何がなにやらわからない状態ということもあり、
(そのときのまわりのロンドナーが結構あっけらかんとしていたのも心強かった）
あとからじわじわとこんなにも恐ろしいことが身近で起こったんだということを理解しました。

クラシックカーブートセールにて。(10月）
ボーダーにパンツ、トレンチコートのマリンルックは定番だけれど、
頭にちょこんと乗った、ミリタリーテイストの帽子がスタイルのアクセントになっていて新鮮だった！
ぶかぶかロングのコートとのバランスもいい感じ。

At Classical Car Boot Sale in October.
Stripe T-shirt and trousers are so basic style.
But her military-ish hat made the style look fresh.
That has a good balance with a big coat.
