Happy Town Reopening!

 

ロックダウンが明けました〜！
長かったです！
この日をどんなに待ったことか！
最初は全然余裕でしたけど、もうさすがに3月に入ってくると憂鬱になってきました。
確かに、生活するだけなら不要不急なことはいらない。
でも人生を生きるには不要不急なショッピングや娯楽は不可欠！！
まだまだ国内旅行も、私の好きなダンスも（屋内）解禁されてませんが、
とにかくお店が、特にマーケットが再開してくれて本当に嬉しい。
私の在庫もたくさんありますけれど、久々に行った買い付けのあと、
買い付けた商品を眺めていたら、どんどんやる気が漲ってきて、新たなインスピレーションも受けて、
休みの日にも仕事しちゃいました。
ロックダウン時には考えられなかったこと！（笑）
アンティーク業界も待ちに待ったマーケット再開なので、最初の週はかなり忙しく、
ロックダウンで優雅に過ごしていた私はこの忙しさに耐えられるのかと思いきや、
意外に大丈夫だった！！
忙しいのを見越して前倒しで仕事してたのもありますが、
やっぱり外に出るとメリハリがつくんですかね。
一日中家にいるとどうしてもダラダラしてしまって、

朝ダラダラして夜に仕事しちゃったり、週末に仕事を持ち越したり。
事務仕事していた私には考えられないほど仕事が遅くて自分にびっくり。（笑）

でも外に出ることで、今日はこれだけしか時間ないからあれをやってこれをやっつけて、

と、タイムマネージメントが分かりやすくなったのかも。

７ヶ月のロックダウンの時間を使っても、本当に、一歩一歩、ゆっくり進んでる私です。

Yeeey, finally Lockdown has finished!!

It was too long.....  7 months in a year!!

We have waited for this moment!

I was totally fine in the beginning, but then I was so tired with this situation in March.

We don't need to go to town, to visit shops and restaurant in order to live.

But we need enjoyment for our life!

We still can't travel, but I am so happy that shops are open, specially markets!

I still have lots of stocks. 

But when I was looking at my new stocks after buying trip, 

I was so excited and inspired from them and that made me work too long.

Antique world was so busy in this week as we have waited the reopening of markets so long.

I was worried if I manage my work in this busy week as I was totally used to my lockdown life,

which has a plenty of time.

But It was no problem.

Although I have done some work for this week already last week as I knew I will be busy,

I managed it pretty well.

I think I was better to go out and have limited time.

I tended to procrastinate working when I stayed home all day.

I used to work efficiently at office, so I was surprised myself how slow I worked at home. lol

Good lord, I am still slow even though I had 7 months at home!

とにかく、早速外に食べにGo!

屋内ではまだ食べられませんが、テラス席など外での飲食はOK。

残念ながらこの週、いきなりまた寒くなったので、（ロックダウン明けは雪が降りました！）

寒がりの私にはきついんですが、イギリス人はそんなの気にしない。

私たちが入ったお気に入りのこのお店はテラスにテントを立てて、

風が凌げたのでだいぶマシでした。

ここはピザとパエリアが目玉のタパスレストランなんですが、

この日はシェフスペシャルにパスタがあったので迷わずオーダー。

まずはサングリアで乾杯して。

美味しいフレッシュパスタをいただきました〜！

人が作ったご飯を家じゃないところで食べるって最高〜！

ここはインスタでご紹介したいんですけど、まずはパエリアを食べなきゃな、と思ってます。

というわけでしばしお待ちを。

お腹いっぱいになったら腹ごなしに近くのチズィックハウスガーデンへお散歩。

野鳥がいっぱいいて面白い。

最近鳥がやたら多いと思うんですが、気のせいかな？

After we got full, we went to Chiswick House Gardens for a walk.

Love this park, nature & birds.

この週末はお天気が最高でした！

ロックダウン明けて最初の週末がこんな素晴らしいお天気で、

たぶんロンドナーみんなでかけまくったんだろうなあ〜。

インスタで流れてくる写真を見ても、どこもいっぱいそうでした！

そりゃそうだよね〜！

この日はマーケットが出ていました！

手作りのものやこだわりのフード、などなど。

レギュラーのマーケットではないと思うんですけど、

このようにもう、待ってましたとばかりにアウトドアイベントが目白押しのロンドンです。

There was a market!

They were selling handmade & artisan food...

There are lots of outdoor events coming in London!

帰りはチズィックの大好きなケーキ屋さん、Chateauでおうちカフェ用のケーキを購入。

そしてそして、サプライズで日本からクッキーが届いていました〜！

めちゃくちゃ嬉しい〜！　

委託させていただいている、東京、高円寺のガイジンのオーナー様から！

全く予期してなかったのですごく嬉しいサプライズでした！

ジャパンクオリティのクッキーが最高！

はあ〜、あとは旅の解禁を待つのみ！

このままイギリス、完全回復しますように！

On the way back home, we bought cakes from our favourite cafe Chateau.

I also have got a surprise present from Japan!

It was from an owner of a shop which has our vintage jewellery!

I didn't expect it at all!

It was cookies and they were gorgeous......

Now, we are waiting for a moment for freedom of travelling!

ロックダウンが明けました〜！
長かったです！
この日をどんなに待ったことか！
最初は全然余裕でしたけど、もうさすがに3月に入ってくると憂鬱になってきました。

とにかくお店が、特にマーケットが再開してくれて本当に嬉しい。
私の在庫もたくさんありますけれど、久々に行った買い付けのあと、
買い付けた商品を眺めていたら、どんどんやる気が漲ってきて、新たなインスピレーションも受けて、
休みの日にも仕事しちゃいました。
ロックダウン時には考えられなかったこと！（笑）
アンティーク業界も待ちに待ったマーケット再開なので、最初の週はかなり忙しく、
ロックダウンで優雅に過ごしていた私はこの忙しさに耐えられるのかと思いきや、
意外に大丈夫だった！！

やっぱり外に出るとメリハリがつくんですかね。
一日中家にいるとどうしてもダラダラしてしまって、

朝ダラダラして夜に仕事しちゃったり、週末に仕事を持ち越したり。

でも外に出ることで、今日はこれだけしか時間ないからあれをやってこれをやっつけて、

Lockdown 2.0

Oops, 10月一回もブログ書かなかった！

早速空けてしまうとは…。

そんなこんなで、イギリスでは再びロックダウンが始まってしまいました。

まあ、秋口からロックダウンになるだろうとは言ってたんですけど…。

伸ばしに伸ばすからこれはもうこのまま日本みたいに普通の生活を強行するのかな？と思っていたら、の。

夏休みが終わってから一向にいい方向に向かっていかないばかりか、

感染者は増える一方だったのでまあまあ予想はしていたんですが。

Oops, I didn't write any post in October!

Shame on me....

And now, we are in lockdown.

I was thinking that we will have a lockdown again, but it was so late that I thought it might not happen.

However, the situation didn't get any better after summer and also new cases kept increasing...

And, here it is.

今回は春の時とは違って、予告してくれたので巣篭もりの準備をすることができました。

私はロックダウン前日、おうちのグリーンを買うべく、（そして可愛いもので気分を上げるべく）、

ピーターシャム・ナーサリーズへ。

これからたっぷりおうちで過ごすので、自分のうちへのインテリアへのインスピレーションをもらいに。

まあ、買ってきたグリーンのうち一つは早速枯らしちゃったんですけどね…。

Unlike the spring lockdown, the government announced a few days before, so I could prepare for nesting.

The day before the lockdown, I went to Petersham Nurseries to buy house plants.

Also I wanted to get inspirations for the home interior. 

I have already let one of my plants die though....

交通機関も使わないようにするので、リッチモンドにお散歩に来るのもしばらくないかな。

ということでお散歩も兼ねて。

この日はロックダウン前日だからか！？

この時期にしてはめちゃくちゃいい天気でした！

（現に今日は朝から暗いx寒いx雨の３攻撃）

I wouldn't come to Richmond while we are in lockdown.

So I walk to the town centre from Petersham.

It was a beautiful day without any cloud!!

リッチモンドのピーターシャムに行ったらそこからテムズ沿いを歩いて行くのが定番コースなんですが、

この日は水位がめちゃくちゃ上がっててテムズ沿いの道が水没。

せっかくのお散歩だったのに、残念。

（もう一つの道はガチ道路でめちゃくちゃ細いのに車がガンガン走ってて優雅にお散歩、って感じじゃないのです。）

I usually walk along Thames from Petersham, but the tide was so high that I couldn't walk there.

Shame.

春の時から懸念していた、秋冬のロックダウン。

春はまだ日が長いし、天気も良かったので耐えられたけれど、今回はそうはいきません。

イギリスの秋冬は暗くて寒くてしかも雨。いやがおうでもストレスがたまります。

ブログでも何回も言っていますが、イギリスは日照時間が少ないので（冬時間だけでなく晴れの日が少ないので）

日光不足のビタミンD不足が原因で鬱になる人がいます。本当に日光大事！！

普通の生活でさえ鬱になる人がいるのに、ロックダウンになったら…と思うと！

押し込められた生活＆経済的不安＆日光不足のトリプルパンチ。

…と嘆いても、しょーがないですよね。

１ヶ月の辛抱！

ロックダウン直前の時にマーケット仲間と話ししてると、

１ヶ月以上になるんじゃないかという人よりも、やっぱりクリスマス前にはロックダウン終わるでしょ、という意見多数。

私も、感染者数は絶対減らないと思うけど、経済のことを考えて12月はお店が開くんじゃないかと思います。

だから、今回は時間が決まってる分、目標を決めて頑張っていこうと思っています！

ブログももうちょっと書くぞ！

実際、外へ行けないストレスはあるものの、家でやらなきゃいけない事はいっぱいあるんですよね…。

考え方を切り替えると、その時間を与えてくれたと思うべきなのかもしれない。

うん、そうなんだわ、きっと。

I have been worried about the lockdown in winter time since spring.

Spring lockdown was ok as the daytime is longer and the weather was better.

But winter is difficult time. It's dark, cold, and wet.

It is so stressful already, plus shops are shut and we have to stay home.

...but what can we do!?

My friends are saying this lockdown wouldn't be extended.

I think numbers of covid new cases will stay like now, but shops will open again for Christmas.

It should be just a month.

I will set goals and achieve them.

I will write blog more!

Actually, I have lots of things to do at home.....

Changing my viewpoint, I was given the time to do it! Yes, I was.

Strawberry Hill House

もうさすがに自粛は飽きた…。
と言ったら不謹慎ですが、さすがに４ヶ月、近所のスーパーか公園にしか行かない生活はもう限界。
というわけでちょっとでもお出かけ気分を味わいに、家から近いカントリーハウスを見学しに行ってきました。

We got bored.  We can't stay home anymore.
I know we shouldn't say that, but it's been 4 month with going nowhere but our local parks and supermarkets.
We want to refresh!!
So we went to a country house to feel something like holiday-ish.

ストロベリーヒルハウスというなんとも可愛い響きの名前が気になってチェックしていたんですが、
ずーっと来れてなかった、イギリスでは珍しい白亜のお城。

Strawberry Hill House.
I was interested in this house because the name is cute.
White castle is very rare in UK, no?

天気が良くてよかったです。
早めについたのでちょっと木陰で気持ちよくお茶しながら入館時間待ち。（要予約）

It was a lovely weather that day.
We came too early, so we had a little teatime before our entrance time.
(You need to book to visit the house.)

このストロベリーヒルハウスは、１８世紀の政治家ホレス・ウォルポールが建てたカントリーハウス。
趣味で中世ゴシック風に建て、見学者が絶えなかったほど当時から見事だったようです。
残念ながら、他で見るような立派な調度品などは全て売られてしまっていてがらんとしていますが、
それでも目を見張るゴシック風装飾とステンドグラスは一見の価値有りです。

Strawberry Hill House was built by Horace Walpole who was a politician in 18th century.
He loved Gothic Style and He had a lot of visitors when he built this house.
Unfortunately, his furniture and collection were all sold and it is an empty house,
but the Gothic decoration and stained glasses were absolutely stunning!!

入って最初の階段ホールですでに「Wow」って言っちゃう。
実は壁は当時を再現した壁紙。
元からずっとこのような綺麗な状態なのではなく、様々な人々の手によって修復されていったのだそうです。
この日もボランティアの方々が熱心に案内してくれました。

You must "wow" when you enter the house and see this staircase.
It hasn't been beautiful like this all the time.
There were lots of people's effort for the restoration.
There were some volunteer people in each room to explain about the history of the house as well that day.

このベッドやベッドリネンもボランティアの人たちが作ってくれたのだとか。
すごい！

This bed and the line were made by volunteers! Amazing!!

左の部屋はトルコ風インテリアだったそうで、上に天蓋らしきものがついてます。
完成されたインテリアを見てみたい〜！

The room in the left was Turkish interior and there is a velvet canopy on the ceiling...
Would love to see the completed interior!

圧倒された図書室。
調度品らしきものはないけれどこの本棚と天井だけで圧倒。

Breathtaking library.
No fancy furniture, but the shelves and the ceiling.... amazing.

こちらがこのハウスのアイコンになっているギャラリー。
赤い壁がいかにも「ストロベリー」っていう感じで好き。
（「ストロベリーヒル」というのは昔のこの辺の地名だそうで、イチゴはこの家と何の関係もないです。）
赤と白と金の三色でまとめられていて、こちらも天井の装飾が圧巻。
ちなみにこちらは結婚式でも借りられるとか。
こんな素晴らしいホールで結婚式とか、凄くないですか？

This is the icon of the house, the gallery.
I love the red wall, perfect match for "strawberry" ... Looks like strawberry & cream.... ;)
(By the way, Strawberry Hill is an old name of the area, the house is nothing related to strawberry.)
Actually, you can hire this place for events like wedding.
Imagine, you have a wedding party in this gorgeous hall....

ほんとに見事な装飾で、最初は「家具がないんじゃな〜」と思った私もそれを忘れるほどに楽しめます。

I actually prefer to see manor house with fancy furniture and decoration.
This house is almost empty, but the decoration is totally amazing and you will forget the house doesn't have furniture.



もう一つの見どころはステンドグラス。

Another highlight is stained glasses.

修復されてないところもありますが、とにかくほんとに美しい。
教会のではなくて家のだから？なのか、とにかく細かい！
細部まで作り込まれているので、間近にみてみる楽しみがあるので飽きません。

Some parts are missing, but SO beautiful.
It is because stained glassed for a house? they are so detailed.
You will take time to see the details of each glasses....

小さな隙間に鳥さんがあったり。　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　
この鳥も一羽一羽違うのですよ…。

There are cute birds in a little corners..  And all of them are different...

 

 

近場で新しい発見があって楽しめた日でした！
残念だったのは、久々にミラーレス持っていったら使い方ド忘れして、失敗写真の多いこと…。
ボケ写真ばかりで残念…。
コロナ禍で各部屋に人数制限があるのでゆっくりできなかったことも残念。
またコロナが落ち着いたらゆっくり行ってみようかな。
ロンドンでメジャーどころを制覇して、どこか行きたいところを探してる皆様、是非行ってみてください！

Shame, I took my mirrorless camera but it's been a while and totally forgot how to use!
I took many photos but lots of them were blur.....
I couldn't take much time to take photos as there was limited people available in each room because of the Coronavirus.
I would love to visit there again after this Corona mess is finished.

もうさすがに自粛は飽きた…。
と言ったら不謹慎ですが、さすがに４ヶ月、近所のスーパーか公園にしか行かない生活はもう限界。
というわけでちょっとでもお出かけ気分を味わいに、家から近いカントリーハウスを見学しに行ってきました。

We got bored.  We can't stay home anymore.
I know we shouldn't say that, but it's been 4 month with going nowhere but our local parks and supermarkets.
We want to refresh!!
So we went to a country house to feel something like holiday-ish.

ストロベリーヒルハウスというなんとも可愛い響きの名前が気になってチェックしていたんですが、
ずーっと来れてなかった、イギリスでは珍しい白亜のお城。

Strawberry Hill House.
I was interested in this house because the name is cute.
White castle is very rare in UK, no?

天気が良くてよかったです。
早めについたのでちょっと木陰で気持ちよくお茶しながら入館時間待ち。（要予約）

It was a lovely weather that day.
We came too early, so we had a little teatime before our entrance time.
(You need to book to visit the house.)

このストロベリーヒルハウスは、１８世紀の政治家ホレス・ウォルポールが建てたカントリーハウス。
趣味で中世ゴシック風に建て、見学者が絶えなかったほど当時から見事だったようです。
残念ながら、他で見るような立派な調度品などは全て売られてしまっていてがらんとしていますが、
それでも目を見張るゴシック風装飾とステンドグラスは一見の価値有りです。

Strawberry Hill House was built by Horace Walpole who was a politician in 18th century.
He loved Gothic Style and He had a lot of visitors when he built this house.
Unfortunately, his furniture and collection were all sold and it is an empty house,
but the Gothic decoration and stained glasses were absolutely stunning!!

入って最初の階段ホールですでに「Wow」って言っちゃう。
実は壁は当時を再現した壁紙。
元からずっとこのような綺麗な状態なのではなく、様々な人々の手によって修復されていったのだそうです。
この日もボランティアの方々が熱心に案内してくれました。

You must "wow" when you enter the house and see this staircase.
It hasn't been beautiful like this all the time.
There were lots of people's effort for the restoration.
There were some volunteer people in each room to explain about the history of the house as well that day.

このベッドやベッドリネンもボランティアの人たちが作ってくれたのだとか。
すごい！

This bed and the line were made by volunteers! Amazing!!

左の部屋はトルコ風インテリアだったそうで、上に天蓋らしきものがついてます。
完成されたインテリアを見てみたい〜！

The room in the left was Turkish interior and there is a velvet canopy on the ceiling...
Would love to see the completed interior!

圧倒された図書室。
調度品らしきものはないけれどこの本棚と天井だけで圧倒。

Breathtaking library.
No fancy furniture, but the shelves and the ceiling.... amazing.

こちらがこのハウスのアイコンになっているギャラリー。
赤い壁がいかにも「ストロベリー」っていう感じで好き。
（「ストロベリーヒル」というのは昔のこの辺の地名だそうで、イチゴはこの家と何の関係もないです。）
赤と白と金の三色でまとめられていて、こちらも天井の装飾が圧巻。
ちなみにこちらは結婚式でも借りられるとか。
こんな素晴らしいホールで結婚式とか、凄くないですか？

This is the icon of the house, the gallery.
I love the red wall, perfect match for "strawberry" ... Looks like strawberry & cream.... ;)
(By the way, Strawberry Hill is an old name of the area, the house is nothing related to strawberry.)
Actually, you can hire this place for events like wedding.
Imagine, you have a wedding party in this gorgeous hall....

ほんとに見事な装飾で、最初は「家具がないんじゃな〜」と思った私もそれを忘れるほどに楽しめます。

I actually prefer to see manor house with fancy furniture and decoration.
This house is almost empty, but the decoration is totally amazing and you will forget the house doesn't have furniture.



もう一つの見どころはステンドグラス。

Another highlight is stained glasses.

修復されてないところもありますが、とにかくほんとに美しい。
教会のではなくて家のだから？なのか、とにかく細かい！
細部まで作り込まれているので、間近にみてみる楽しみがあるので飽きません。

Some parts are missing, but SO beautiful.
It is because stained glassed for a house? they are so detailed.
You will take time to see the details of each glasses....

小さな隙間に鳥さんがあったり。　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　
この鳥も一羽一羽違うのですよ…。

There are cute birds in a little corners..  And all of them are different...

 

 

近場で新しい発見があって楽しめた日でした！
残念だったのは、久々にミラーレス持っていったら使い方ド忘れして、失敗写真の多いこと…。
ボケ写真ばかりで残念…。
コロナ禍で各部屋に人数制限があるのでゆっくりできなかったことも残念。
またコロナが落ち着いたらゆっくり行ってみようかな。
ロンドンでメジャーどころを制覇して、どこか行きたいところを探してる皆様、是非行ってみてください！

We really enjoyed the visiting!
Shame, I took my mirrorless camera but it's been a while and totally forgot how to use!
I took many photos but lots of them were blur.....
I couldn't take much time to take photos as there was limited people available in each room because of the Coronavirus.
I would love to visit there again after this Corona mess is finished.

Spring has come in London! ～ ロンドンに春が来た!

私が日本に行く前は本当に寒かったんですが、

直前になって、春というか、むしろ通り越して一気に夏日がやってきました。

家の近くなリッチモンドにお散歩へ。

however, it suddenly became warm, rather hot like summer just before I left for Japan.

We went to Richmond for a walk.

お散歩コースはいつもテムズ川からピーターシャムまで歩くのですが、この日の満潮は、ほとんど洪水。

岸ぎりぎりまで水が上がってきてました。こんなの初めて!

Our walking course in Richmond is starting from River Thames to Petersham.

But the high tide of the day was so high and it was almost flood!

I had never seen that.

とにかく本当に気持ちのいい日で、川辺にはたくさんの人!

It was really beautiful day and there were a lot of people by the river!

あまりに水位が高かったので、もしかしてピーターシャムへ行くフットパス（小道）も水浸しかな…と思ったけど、

ちゃんと洪水用ドライルートが確保＆案内済み!　さすが。

I wondered the footpath might have been wet because of the high tide.

However, there was a dry route during flood and it was guided already!

ピーターシャムに着いたら春のお花を愛でて。

カフェはありえないくらい並んでたのでショップを散策しておしまい。

We checked spring flowers at Petersham Nurseries.

There was a looong queue for cafe, so we didn't have tea there.

大好きなショップ、いつもインスピレーションをくれます。

My favourite shop, it always gives me inspirations.

さあ、これからもう春の始まりかな~と思ったら、このあとまた冬に逆戻り…

（まさかあれで今年の夏終わりじゃないだろうな、と思いつつ（これが冗談にならない）

私が戻ってきたときにまた夏日がやってきました。

私が日本に行く前は葉もまばらだったバラたちにいっぱい蕾ができてたし、

もうだめかと思っていた枯れ木のアナベルにも（笑）葉っぱがいっぱい出てきて、すっかり春です!

ただし、見た目と違ってまだまだ肌寒いロンドン…

コートなしで出歩けるのはいつになることやら。

(I really thought our summer 2018 had finished! )

Gladly, spring came back when I came back to London.

My roses didn't have many leaves before I went to Japan, but it has lots of buds when I came back.

My annabelle looked almost dead (lol), but it has lots of leaves when I came back.

Spring officially has come in London!

However, it is still cold.....  I hope I put my coats away very soon....

私が日本に行く前は本当に寒かったんですが、
