先日やっと行けた、前からずっと行きたかったイズリントンにあるカフェをご紹介。
Today, I write about a cafe where I had wanted to go!
メゾンデット。英語に直すとHouse of being.
何かイディオムか何かかな、と思って、店を出た後に、相方にどういう意味?と聞いたら、
「え…そうだな…なんていうか…」
と真剣に考え出して、私がすっかり聞いたことも忘れた１０分後ぐらいもめっちゃググってました。笑
何もそこまでしてくれなくても。笑 ごめん、なんとなく聞いただけなのに。

前回来たときはテイクアウトのお客さんも含めて満席、ギューギューだったのですが、
今回は奇跡的に座れた!
ランチには遅く、ティータイムには早い２時くらいだったからよかったのかも。
お店はそんなに広くないのですが、とっても居心地がいい雰囲気です。
Last time we went there, it was so full including people waiting for take-away coffee.
We finally got seats this time!
Maybe it was good that we went there around 2pm, late for lunch, early for teatime.
The cafe is not so big, but very cosy.
私のお気に入りはなんといっても奥の部屋。
天井がガラス張りで、日光が入ってきてとても明るいです!
インテリアもとってもかわいい。
My favourite is definitely the conservatory in the back.
The whole ceiling is made of glass, the room is very bright.
The interior was also cute.
ランチはサンドイッチがメインな感じ。
私はアボカドのオープンサンド。
相方はBLTで。(サンドイッチでよく見るBLTは、ベーコン、レタス、トマトの略。）
アボカドのもおいしかったけれど、相方のBLTのほうが好みだった!
BLTのほうにもアボカドのマッシュがぬってあって、とろとろの黄身がたまりません。
結局半ぶんこにしてもらっちゃった。
Their lunch menus are mostly sandwiches.
I had an avocado open sandwich.
My partner took BLT.
I liked mine, but to be honest, I preferred BLT!
There was avocado spread on BLT as well, and I loved the creamy egg yolk.
In the end, we shared them :)
さて、前回はお茶に来て座れなかったので、いやおうにもケーキに目が惹かれます…。
実はこの日は家に相方が作った抹茶カステラがあったのですが(!)、
今度いつこれるかわからないし! ケーキめちゃくちゃおいしそうだし!
というわけで頼んじゃいました。
相方はこの写真のスコーンにすごく惹かれていたのですが…
Last time we went there for teatime, so we couldn't stop looking at their sweets....
Actually we had green tea castella cake baked by my partner at home,
but we never know when we can go back there again, and their cakes looked very yummy!
So we ordered.
My partner was attracted to scones on this photo....
同じくらい惹かれていたのが、このレモンとズッキーニのケーキ。
ズッキーニがケーキに!? と思うかもしれませんが、ズッキーニの味はそんなにしません。
(おかずでもそんな主張のある味じゃないよね?）
レモンがほのかに香って、ズッキーニがケーキをしっとりとさせてくれています。
おいしかったです！
他にも、フレンチのカフェ名ですが、ケーキはかなりイングリッシュぽかったです。
でもズッキーニのケーキから思うに、きっと甘さは控えめ。
フレンチといえば、お隣のお客さんもフレンチだったし、相方はスタッフさんと仏語で話すしで、ちょっとパリのカフェ気分でした。笑
ここはコーヒーも有名ですが、カフェラテ、苦味がなくておいしかった!
but also to this lemon and courgette cake.
Courgette made the cake moist and there was subtle lemon flavour.
The name of the cafe is French, but their cakes are more English.
But when I went there, the customers next to us were French, a staff who served us was French and talked to my partner in French,
so I felt like I was in Paris :)
This cafe is very famous for coffee too, their cafe latte was very good, no coffee bitterness.
