At Frock Me! Vintage Fair in July.
Since I found a beautiful navy vintage dress at a vintage shop, (unfortunately it wasn't my size),
 I am obsessed with a navy simple dress.
I think that a navy simple dress is very useful, you can dress as chic and also cute way, like a basic "little black dress".
Her dress was my ideal style, the little white lace is cute and simple point!
I can't wear a mini dress like this, but if I were younger....
It really suited her young beauty!

とあるお店でとってもステキな紺のヴィンテージドレスを見かけたときから、紺のシンプルドレスを探しています。
紺のシンプルドレスって、リトルブラックドレスと同じように、シックにもキュートにも着られると思うんだよね。
彼女のドレスも理想的で、白のレースがシンプルだけどとてもキュートなポイントに。

At Frock Me! Vintage Fair in July.
Since I found a beautiful navy vintage dress at a vintage shop, (unfortunately it wasn't my size),

London Fashion Snap No.66 ~ Kimono dress

At Clerkenwell Vintage Fair in June.
Her dress had a beautiful silhouette, that's why I asked her to take a snap,

At Clerkenwell Vintage Fair in June.
Her dress had a beautiful silhouette, that's why I asked her to take a snap,
but, is it Kimono fabric?
It looked like a crepe fabric, it matched this Western dress style.
But still had Oriental taste, it was stunning.
I sometimes see remakes of Japanese kimono, but I had never seen such a perfect one!

Ichijouji ~ 一乗寺 2

Continued the city guide of Ichijoji, this time is around Shirakawa Dori Street.

一乗寺ガイドの続き、今回は白川通り方面へ。

Sowgen Brocante / Cafe　　　そうげんブロカンテ　/　カフェ

I just wanted to check the cafe, but they had a antique shop too.
They also have a flower shop as well, there are lots of green in the shop.
In the shop, so many Japanese and European antiques were piled up from the floor to the ceiling.
I just glanced at the cafe from the outside, but it looked very nice too.
I have to try there!


もともとカフェをのぞくつもりでいったら、とってもステキなアンティークショップが併設。
お花屋さんも併設されているようで、グリーンがいっぱいでナチュラルな雰囲気がステキなお店。
さわるとガラガラ崩れてきそうなくらい、お店にはたくさんの和洋アンティークがずらり。
このカオスな感じがたまりません。
カフェは外からのぞいただけですが、アンティークショップとうってかわってすっきりシンプルなインテリア。
こちらも今度ぜひトライしたい。

They picked up lots of nice creators so I was very interested.
I looked forward to going there, but unfortunately it was closed when I went back to Japan in May.

とても気になるクリエイターさんばかりが取り上げられていたので、前回の帰国時にぜひ行きたかったのですが、
残念ながらお休みでした…。

Enkou-ji　　　圓光寺

This temple is famous for autumn leaves, it must be beautiful in this season.
When I went there, it was October (photos are from 2011), it was a bit early for autumn leaves.
Those green leaves must be burning red now.
Near there, Shisen-do and Manju-in are also great spot for autumn leaves.


徳川家康が学校として開いたお寺。
紅葉の名所として有名で、今の時期は特に美しいはず。
残念ながら私が行った１０月は(写真は２０１１年）まだまだ紅葉には早かったけれど、
今頃はこの緑がほとんど真っ赤に染まっているはず。
この辺りではほかに、詩仙堂や曼殊院の二つも紅葉の名所として有名。

Continued the city guide of Ichijoji, this time is around Shirakawa Dori Street.

一乗寺ガイドの続き、今回は白川通り方面へ。

I just wanted to check the cafe, but they had a antique shop too.
They also have a flower shop as well, there are lots of green in the shop.

I totally forgot to upload the fashion snaps from this summer.

I loved the vivid yellow flower print.

Alexandra Palace Antiques & Collectors Fair

This antique fair in Alexandra Palace is held several times a year.
Pop Up Vintage Fair, which I joined last week at Old Spitalfields, is held at the same time too.

Alexandra Palace Antiques & Collectors Fair

This antique fair in Alexandra Palace is held several times a year.
Pop Up Vintage Fair, which I joined last week at Old Spitalfields, is held at the same time too.
You can find quality antiques and reasonable vintages.  (Photos were taken in May 2014.)


年に数回ある北ロンドンのアレクサンドラ・パレスでのアンティークフェア。
私が前回参加したポップアップヴィンテージフェアも同時に開催されており、
本格的なアンティークからお手ごろヴィンテージまで、幅広くそろいます。(写真は５月のものです。）

 It's one of the biggest antique fair in London.
There are so many stalls that you need to take lots of time to see everything.
Next fair is next month, December.
I am not going to sell there, but will go to find treasure :)


ロンドン市内開催のものでは、かなり大きいフェア。

Istanbul ~the bridge between East and West ~ ヒガシとニシをつなぐ街、イスタンブール   Oct 2014 Vol.7

There are more spots to see in East Istanbul!

イスタンブールのヨーロッパ側の東にもまだまだ見所はいっぱい。

East Istanbul is a residential area.
Away from Sultanahmet where is very busy with people, it's pretty quiet.
And there are some Byzantine remains in this area.


スルタンアフメットからの観光客や市街の喧騒から離れて一転、この辺りは住宅街で静か。
そんな中に東ローマ帝国の遺跡がぽつんぽつん、とある。

Chora Church (Kariye Muzesi)　　カーリエ博物館

It used to be a Byzantine monastery and converted into a mosque in the Ottoman era, and it became a museum in 1948.
The mosaics and frescos were plastered when it was a mosque, but they were restored beautifully.
I was stunned by the huge scale of Ayasophia, but these frescos and mosaics also blew me away.
They are so beautiful that you can stay there for long, enough to hurt your neck!


東ローマ帝国の修道院で、その後モスクになったけれど、その美術的価値が認められ、博物館としてオープン。
モザイクも漆喰で塗りつぶされていたらしいけど、復元された。
アヤソフィアはそのスケールに圧倒されたけれど、こちらはフレスコ画、モザイク画に圧倒。
あまりにもきれいに残っており、絵で埋め尽くされた教会は長時間いても飽きないので、首が痛くなっちゃう。

Pammakaristos Church (Fethiye Camii)　　　ファーティエ・ジャーミィ

On the way to Fatih Camii from Chora Church, a couple of tourists told us "there is a nice Byzantine church as well".
It's a very cosy church, but there is very beautiful mosaics.
Unlike Chora Church, which was full of tourists, it was very quiet, there was only another couple of tourists and us, and a few cats :)
We could spend the time there with relaxing.

カーリエ博物館からファーティ・ジャーミィへ行く途中に出会った観光客の人に、「ここにもビザンツのステキな教会があるわよ」と教えてもらった。
小さいくこじんまりとはしているけれど、ここにもかなりきれいなモザイク画が残っている。
観光客でいっぱいのカーリエ博物館と違って、ここにはもう一組の観光客と私たち、そして猫だけ。
ゆっくり鑑賞できた。

Fatih Mosque (Fatih Cami)　　　ファーティフ・ジャーミィ

It's a big mosque in the residential area.
There were almost only local people there.

住宅街の中にある大きなモスクで、観光客よりも断然、地元の人が多い。

Suleymaniye Mosque (Suleymaniye Camii)　　　スュレイマニエ・ジャーミィ

This huge mosque is on the top of the hill in Istanbul, built in the 16th century.
The architect is the famous Mimar Sinan, who also built Rustem Pasha Mosque.
From the mosque, you can see the great view of Bosphorus Sea.


イスタンブールの高台に立つ、１６世紀完成のモスク。
リュステム・パシャ・ジャーミィを手がけた名高い建築家が立てたことでも有名。
モスクからはボスフォラス海峡が眺められる。

 

Grand Bazaar (Kapalicarsi)　　　グランドバザール

This is one of the largest and oldest covered markets in the world.
Unfortunately, we couldn't get inside as it was closed for all 4 days during our stay in Istanbul because of the Eid.
There were some shops opened outside of the bazaaar.
But I really wanted to see the inside since it was very historical building.


中東最大と言われる屋根付き市場。
残念ながら、滞在中はEidで入ることが出来ず、中も見ることができなかった。
まわりのお店はちょこちょこ開いていたので雰囲気はなんとなくつかめたけれど、
ショッピングよりも、建物自体が古そうだったので中も見てみたかった。

Istanbul ~the bridge between East and West ~ ヒガシとニシをつなぐ街、イスタンブール   Oct 2014 Vol.7

There are more spots to see in East Istanbul!

イスタンブールのヨーロッパ側の東にもまだまだ見所はいっぱい。

East Istanbul is a residential area.
Away from Sultanahmet where is very busy with people, it's pretty quiet.
And there are some Byzantine remains in this area.


スルタンアフメットからの観光客や市街の喧騒から離れて一転、この辺りは住宅街で静か。
そんな中に東ローマ帝国の遺跡がぽつんぽつん、とある。

Chora Church (Kariye Muzesi)　　カーリエ博物館

It used to be a Byzantine monastery and converted into a mosque in the Ottoman era, and it became a museum in 1948.
The mosaics and frescos were plastered when it was a mosque, but they were restored beautifully.

On the way to Fatih Camii from Chora Church, a couple of tourists told us "there is a nice Byzantine church as well".
It's a very cosy church, but there is very beautiful mosaics.
Unlike Chora Church, which was full of tourists, it was very quiet, there was only another couple of tourists and us, and a few cats :)
We could spend the time there with relaxing.

This huge mosque is on the top of the hill in Istanbul, built in the 16th century.
