またまたバースへやってきました。(またまたって行ったけど、この前のは一年も前だったわ～)
We went to Bath.
フランスから友人が来ていて、ロンドンにも住んだことのある彼だったので、
じゃあ、行ったことないところでお出かけ気分が味わえるところにしようということで、バース。
コッツウォルズのような蜂蜜色の石でできた古い市街は、何度きてもやっぱりステキです。
We had a guest from France, who used to live in London.
We wanted to take him somewhere he had never been and good place to go out, so it was Bath.
The old town of Bath is made of the honey coloured limestones like Cotswolds, which is beautiful.
相方さんは前回来たとき、スパがメインだったらしく、
あんまり、というかまったく観光をしてなかったみたいで、
「こんなにいい街だったんだねー!」ととても楽しんでいたみたい。
My partner came to Bath for spa only last time, he had never walked around the town.
He really enjoyed walking in the town this time.
心配していたお天気は、午後からとても晴れて気持ちよく、川べりをお散歩。
We were worried about the weather, but it became sunny from the afternoon.
We walked along the river.
二人とも(もちろん友人も）すっかりバースが気に入って、将来はこの町に住みたいね～なんて話も。
（てか、行く先々で同じこと言ってるけれど。笑）
All of us totally loved Bath, we were talking that we want to live in the town in future.
(Anyway, we always say that wherever we visited....)
バースアビーではちょっとしたアートの展示がありました。
緻密な模様のディテイルがすごい。
久しぶりに絵を描きたくなりました。
We saw an exhibition in Bath Abbey.
It was so beautiful. Specially, the details of drawings were amazing.
I feel like that I want to draw.
地方に来たら欠かせないのが、やっぱりティールーム。
いまどきのカフェも気になったけれど、今回はやっぱりフランスからのお客様がいたので、
トラディショナルなところで。
ロンドンに来たことはあるけれど、クリームティーは初めてだった友人。
スコーン、お気に召したようです。
We always go to traditional tea rooms when we visit somewhere.
We love modern cafes, but we had to visit a traditional one for our guest who never had a cream tea.
He loved scones, I was glad!
私はというと、ちゃっかりヴィンテージフェアがあることも確認済みだったのだけれど、
月末と月初の日曜にあるフェアに第３日曜も加わり、
じゃあ、第３日曜が連続する続きでは一番初めだからいいかも？と思った私の読みは見事にはずれ。
ディーラーさんに聞いたらやっぱり、月末の日曜が一番大きいらしいです。
今度こそは。
でも、とってもステキなガーデンフラワーを売ってる人がいました。
朝一で来てたので、(荷物になるから）夕方にまた戻ってくるから、といって再び夕方に戻ってくると、
最後の２束だったらしく、全部で５ポンドに負けてくれた!
ロンドンではなかなか見かけない花束です。(ここにはあるけれど、こんなミックスでこの値段はない…）
相方がちょうど今週誕生日なので、スペシャルウィークにふさわしい!
狙っていたパブランチは父の日で満員で入れなかったので、また近いうちに月末の日曜に戻ってこなくちゃ!
Of course, I checked about the vintage market in Bath that day.
Now they have vintage market in the 3rd, the last and the first Sunday of a month.
I thought 3rd Sunday was the first in a row, so it might be busy..... but I was wrong......
One of the dealers told me that the last Sunday of the month is the best.
I must come back again!
I found someone who was selling beautiful flowers in the market.
I had to buy them since I can't find anything like this in this price in London, also this week is my partner's birthday.
We also wanted to go to a pub for lunch, but we couldn't as it was fully booked for the Father's day.
We must go back to Bath very soon!
